We on the dissident Right hold that demographics is destiny in regards to race. If so, then it is natural that the same can be said for sub-racial genetic characteristics such as extremism, conscientiousness, and so on. Due to the fact that various waves of Europeans traveled across the Atlantic, the baseline for certain genetic traits among American whites is different from that which is found in our homeland of Europe.
Josh Neal argues in American Extremist that extremism was baked into the cake of American culture from its founding. More than one person on the Right has observed that the current year’s woke fanaticism seems eerily reminiscent of the fanatical Puritan mindset. From personal experience, wokeness seems to have a higher rate among old-stock Anglos than other whites, which would make sense if Puritan genes are predisposed toward fanaticism. Wokeness is practically a religion: It has saints such as George Floyd and Martin Luther King, priests in professors and journalists, and articles of faith such as absolute racial equality. At the very least, it is a dark inversion of religion. The mask of Black Lives Matter today is not that different from the conservative bonnet of the past. Religious fervor is not limited to the Left, either, given how it has continuously handicapped the center and dissident Right as well.
While Josh Neal sticks to analyzing American extremism as a cultural rather than a genetic issue, culture primarily springs forth from instincts felt in the blood, followed by instincts inspired by the land. Apart from the arid deserts of the Southwest and the unsettling flatness of the Great Plains, there is not much in the geography of the United States that lends itself to extremism. While our continent’s majestic landscapes might certainly inspire a religious outlook, one would think that most of it would not inspire extremism. Furthermore, whites did not expand into the deserts and plains until well after religious extremism had already become apparent in America. Extremism can be encountered even in biomes which should discourage it, such as lush forests and river lands. As such, America has an extremism problem arising mostly from its genetic makeup.
What is disturbing about this phenomenon is that it should have tapered off by now due to regression towards the mean. Regression towards the mean is when unusual outliers of a trait in individuals — usually, but not limited to, IQ — tend to regress over time towards what is average in the broader population. For example, dynasties with an exceptional founder become more average over time. What this suggests is that the white American genome has been so saturated with extremist genes that it is not an issue of extremist individuals, but of a new baseline population that has radically departed from what should be the norm for a European population.
Rootedness is another trait in which the white American baseline differs from that of our homelands. It is not as readily apparent as bombastic religious extremism, but it nonetheless has had just as much of an impact on American politics, if not more. And like religious extremism, it is an entrenched obstacle to nationalism.
Rootlessness might be more entrenched in American genetics than religious extremism. While the Puritans provided much of America’s foundational genes, many other early colonists came for economic reasons. As time passed, these economic factors came to predominate over all others, even the vaunted “pursuit of liberty,” which was mythologized as the primary reason why many of our Ellis Island ancestors came to America. Yes, liberty: as in liberty to make an extra buck, or at least to try not to starve to death in a vicious rat race. I somehow doubt many people crossed the Atlantic as a result of principled disagreements with the Habsburgs’ policies regarding freedom of the press. If so, it would have made better sense to join the romantic nationalist or socialist movements in the old country at the time.
Probably due in part to our own lack of rootedness and the proliferation of technology, we oftentimes downplay just how radical a decision it was to move to America. Our ancestors had to leave behind the land which their blood had been intertwined with since time immemorial. It meant likely never seeing their homelands again, and maintaining correspondence with friends and family solely through the mail.
This phenomenon further intensified during the early twentieth century, and particularly the Roaring Twenties. As The American Regime points out:
It was during this time that America became the nation of the middle class and the idea of the “American dream” was popularized. Eventually, the bourgeoisie of the world, often from countries where such a class was repressed, came to America in droves to realize this dream.[1]

America’s rootlessness may also be in part metaphysical as well as genetic, due to the fact that America’s founding took place when the West had passed from the era of the warrior to that of the bourgeois merchants.[2]
Just like religious extremism, rootlessness continues to this day, and most markedly among the Left and the apolitical “normies,” who are rightfully memed as just wanting to grill. The derision of boomers has less to do with age and more to do with the proliferation of bourgeois values among all age cohorts, which inherently lend themselves to rootlessness. How does the destruction of Confederate statues affect one’s immediate safety, comfort, wealth, or the all-important sportsball?
Rootlessness is also apparent in the center-Right, with its tepid economic conservatism and veneration of Ayn Rand as a prophet. Consider how a character in The Fountainhead states that “I would give the greatest sunset in the world for one sight of New York’s skyline . . . What other religion do we need?” This is the height of rootless cosmopolitan arrogance, and the worship of man that was decried by Savitri Devi is diametrically opposed to the worship of life. I would happily demolish all of New York’s hideous architecture for a sunrise in the Shire, or a sunset over Huntington Beach.
But rootlessness is at times also a problem within certain sectors of the dissident Right, paradoxically in spite of our opposition to it. There is a perennial struggle to get people offline and to do anything in real life. In Europe, by contrast, there are numerous nationalist coffee shops, bookshops, sports clubs, and events — and they have baseline genetics. And while we can partially attribute America’s alienation to car culture, suburbanization, and state intervention, there is also probably a genetic component.
Further, while NATO being humiliated in the abstract would be a net benefit for white nations because it is an instrument of globalism, the gleeful gloating over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine among some on the Right belies a lack of compassion which most likely stems in part from a lack of rootedness. It should be natural to empathize with a white nation based on blood and soil, but this may be difficult for people who have never had the experience of being properly rooted in a nation of their own, and thus analyze the war purely from the cold perspective of geopolitics.
Moreover, Americans move on average 11.7 times in their lives, while Europeans move about four times. Just as their ancestors did, Americans are more inclined than the average European to move, and according to the US Census Bureau, the reasons are usually economic. It is quite unlikely that genetics doesn’t play some role in this.
It is doubtful that rootlessness will deviate from regression towards the mean, similar to religious extremism, because European immigrants who left their sense of blood and soil behind for economic motives came in greater numbers — and more recently than those who came for religious reasons.
If the problem is a new genetic baseline and not rootless individuals, is all then lost?
I would say no. First, America’s genetic predisposition toward rootlessness did not prevent our country from once having had a functioning civil society with its own sense of community once upon a time, even if that predisposition lent itself to rapid erosion.
Second, there is currently a genetic bottleneck in which the very top and the very bottom reproduce more than the average. The Lumpenproletariat will always breed with wild abandon, regardless of the consequences. Meanwhile, those who are genetically predisposed towards traditionalism, rootedness, and so on tend to have the will and the means to start a family. The middling bourgeoisie, who tend toward rootlessness, are the most susceptible to anti-natalist pressures.
Third, the act of crossing the Atlantic selected for a number of good traits such as adventurism, creativity, and toughness. Due to the aforementioned bottleneck, it is likely that these positive traits will increase, or at least stay the same, while negative traits such as rootlessness and fanaticism are selected out. Instead of lamenting that our genetic baseline is different, we can turn our positive traits against the negative ones. Adventurism is contrary to bourgeois values, which inherently lend themselves to rootlessness.
Finally, we can establish a bond with the land. Just as establishing a relationship with a person, however, this will take time. Bridging the gap between blood and soil is a complicated endeavor which is as metaphysical as it is psychological, and thus will be the subject of a future article.

I know many here disagree because it is too existential to contemplate, but settler-nationalism, with few exceptions (Iceland), just doesn’t last because it is unnatural.
We are seeing even the soldered consociationalism of Northern Ireland and Lebanon unravel between tribes that are barely distinct from each other solely because of demographic change.
There isn’t much difference between settler-nationalism, patriotism and civic nationalism because it all stems from the magic dirt theory and a primary conflict from the daughter colony to the motherland, which is just unacceptable in the Current Year.
For some reason (perhaps mostly from Pan-European anglophone assimilation) only Anglo-Saxon settler nations seems to have maintained any postcolonial continuity, while the rest immediately repatriated back to Europe (Portuguese, Italian, Greek, German, France, Denmark, Belgium, Russia), and a remnant (Afrikaner, Quebecois) either live under the protection of Anglo-Saxons or have been lost to indigenous intermarriage (Criollos, Lusitanic).
Yet these Anglophone countries are measurably collapsing, with every major city functioning as a bellwether of critical-mass diversity because too many nonwhites are also ‘assimilating’ into anglophone society, regressing the mean, and thus dragging down its host nation with it.
There needs to be research on American (and every other postcolonial) patriotism. It seems to only exist after a declaration of war. The last one was 9/11. Even before demographic change, I can’t see that formula ever working again because too many people know the truth now about this country and what it has become or what it always was. It seems nearly all of the right wing sympathizes with Russia in this latest neo Cold War proxy conflict. It openly sides against ‘woke’ American athletes in the Olympics and doesn’t recognize election results. I’m not sure anything close to this existed in WWI, WWII or any conflict in the Cold War on this scale. So any kind of false flag would likely not produce the usual flag-waving this time around, especially considering the military recruitment shortage.
So that deracinates the European-American nation from any notion of loyal opposition to this government or its fungible demographic polity even further. I see the European diaspora becoming essentially stateless as they become minorities in their civic nationalist countries.
The relativley unpopulated North American and Southern Hemisphere territories which the British won by the end of the nineteenth century had warm- and cold- temperate climates, fertile soils and could be worked by Europeans without non-European help, albeit this was sometimes used in the South, in South Africa and to an extent in the antipodes. I know less about the colonies of the other European powers but I can only think of Argentina, Uruguay and perhaps Chile which are also temperate and still have predominantly European populations. No flight back to Spain and Italy for them. In those other cases where the colonies were abandoned it was due to the extreme minority Europeans having lost prestige and confidence to command the natives and having to contend with the worldwide communist propaganda and subversion which we still face in different guises today. The costs of staying, against the tide of global propaganda, were too great.
Despite theologian Dr Hendrik Verwoerd’s principled design of apartheid ( apartness) even South Africa was eventually brought to heel and may be just the first of the formerly European lands to fall. Let’s hope not. Without a strong antidote to the ever burgeoning anti-white culture of white countries it’s hard to see a way out. We don’t have long.
This meme of South Americans retaining full European ancestry is easily debunked with a google search of 23andme results of citizens from these countries. There is significant admixture and they are thus Castizos. Inb4 the Argentina soccer team, many of those are recent Italian immigrants, whereas the bedrock of ‘white’ Brazilians and South Americans are very mestizo. There’s a reason Latin America’s definition of white is so flexible.
I don’t share this dire and incredibly unsophisticated outlook of whites ‘running out of time’ and frankly I’m exhausted by it. We could all easily repatriate back to Europe and solve its demographic ‘crisis’ for several centuries. Why is that never talked about? And no, I don’t care about ‘Muh resources’ of these costly colonial possessions. It simply isn’t worth cohabitating with diversity. The risk of mass-miscegenation as seen in Latin America is too great long-term. There are advances in technology these days to find better options and plenty of arable land in Europe. And I no longer believe Africa’s population will quadruple by the end of the century, having seen how its diaspora demographics have transitioned incredibly fast in just a decade in the UK despite being supplemented by endless immigration.
From my simple, provincial perspective white people, assuming the Kalergi-EU would let us in, being confined to Europe would be a losing position in the long-term. as the continent has been more or less stripped of resources and us ceding North America and Australia/NZ would necessarily leave those immensely valuable landmasses to our racial competitors. Even if some gargantuan population swap could be achieved you would still need young people to have a reason to form families and not miscegenate, a practice the virtues of which they are reassured daily.
The US, Canada, Australia, NZ all face white minority status within 20 years. All now have uni-party support for effectively limitless “legal” immigration. The bulk of the rump white electorate is cowed or truly does now love Big Brother and will not resist. Add to this the DIE agenda in the workplace and the steady erasure of white culture from the public sphere and yes I don’t think there is very much time. Once we are a small enough minority then the genocidal repression will begin in earnest. You will have to join the jews, like Trump, Biden, de Santis, Blair and so many others or die.

I did mention resources, in the context of geopolitics not pulling chicks, and land, but also the demoralization and degeneracy of most of the populace. Yes, Europe was doing well in the fifteenth century except that she had lost Constantinople in 1453, the Battle of Lepanto was a great victory for Christendom in 1570 but would it have been possible without the wealth of Spain derived from the Americas? The Turks were barely turned back from Vienna twice in 1529 and then as late as 1683. Slave raids were a constant scourge. Europe was a continent besieged even with its overseas holdings. We now face large, well-organized rivals in China and India, who will carve up the globe if we retreat to fortress Europa. Will they be content for us to sit in our fortress, or will they see it to be in their interest to eliminate us, probably by continental siege similar to the one Europe faced in the 1940s? At present we are race-mixing our entire populace into racial oblivion which suits the Indians, the Chinese and the Jews just fine.
Your attitude regarding non-Europeans already in our lands seems to be: resistance is futile. Mine is: the problems is only getting worse so lets try to fix it now. Dr Johnson has proposed a series of measures that could be used. The essential element is for us to have the will to assert our right to rule, overthrow the Jewish yoke and form a clear majority with leadership drawn exclusively from that majority. This is why the repression is increasing because they know that this is what we have to do to survive.
Regarding roots, the European Peoples in Victoria, British Columbia (who are overwhelmingly the majority) allowed & did nothing after the statue of Sir John A. MacDonald was removed & the statue of Captain James Cook was thrown into the harbor. The Europeans in Victoria would not recognize their roots if they tripped over them. Do not feel sorry for them as they are being replaced at lightning speed, in addition to the drastic crime increase. Like that European woman said at Hillside Mall when told that the Europeans are becoming a minority in Victoria – “who cares”.

Cook was certainly one of the great men of his age. I have no doubt that not one in a million Canadians would hold a candle to MacDonald whatever his supposed sins against the local Indians.
This reminded me of Theodore Roosevelt’s ‘frontier thesis’, according to which Americans are a genetic elite of pioneers, and those in the American west are the true master-race.
Timothy Leary(!) had a similar take. Over the centuries each gene pool had sent “its smartest blossoms west”. Californians are the final super-caste and as there is nowhere further “west” for them to go, the high-IQ types among them are destined to continue humanity’s evolution in space.

Congratulations for this very interesting exposition and its indispensable evolutionary approach. I would include as a reason (probably the main one) for American extremism the very varied background of ethnic groups from all over the European continent that make up the origin of today’s White Americans, with ethnic mixtures never seen elsewhere, and which have not occurred homogeneously within the United States either. This, necessarily, had to provoke a broadening of the range of options and opinions contemplated by the new population. Not surprisingly, the United States is known abroad for its enormous contrasts (or extremes farther apart than usual). After all, even if the first wave of White settlers were fanatical Puritans, it is only a tiny minority of the ancestry of today’s Americans, which was absolutely absorbed by many tens of millions of White arrivals later on.
On the other hand, I would not oppose adventurism to bourgeois morality, for they are much more closely linked than it may seem. Although the bourgeoisie may logically detest instability and uncertainty in order to avoid problems in business, it is difficult to make money without a good dose of boldness and adventurism. As a general rule, profits go hand in hand with risks. Even very durable companies manage to survive over time by adapting to new times and new conditions, which require bold decisions from time to time. It is no surprise to me that the USA has become the leading paradigm of capitalism.

I think how “unnatural” remains to be seen. I come from old West pioneer stock that went out West before the land had even been wrested from Spanish control. It was a demographic desert by European standards, with nary a Spanish speaker to be found. Sometimes Injuns caused problems but they were not that hard to convince with both carrot and stick.
My Great-Grandmother was born in Idaho, part of a farming family of over ten children. She remembered Injuns about the turn of the 20th century coming around begging for food and liquor. They gave them lots of food but Mormons typically don’t stock liquor. The adults “circled the wagons” a little and were worried that a kid or two might go missing until the Natives moved on.
My Grandmother and Mother were also born in Idaho as well. Their roots run as deep as anyone’s. Their fathers tilled the soil and mined the Earth. They did not trade or speculate on shares of stock and none of us ever got rich.
How can you say that these settlers were in any way less natural or authentic than those soil serfs in the Old Country?
Today, this majority Anglo stock is still mostly Anglo, and Idaho and Utah are the most Anglo states in the entire country except for the state of Maine.
The rest of the country is mostly Germanic stock or Scots-Irish, and nothing is wrong with either of those. We Pioneers do have a slight distrust of outsiders and have been “prepping” for hard times since before that was even a thing.
However, the times, they are a-changing. Libtards escaping from the big cities like L.A. keep moving in flight to places like Boise. They settle where “it is nice to raise a family” and then they bring their bank accounts and crappy politics with them. They expect the same amenities they were used to in the big city so that the taxes go sky high even though the locals have been surviving on low incomes since forever.
These are some of the Whitest parts of the country ─ and that is a problem because the people experience life differently than a White family under racial siege in some other parts of the country might. This makes RaHoWa a tough sell. They have a hard time understanding why you would not want to let the Darkies join in to play in all the reindeer games. By the time da White wimmen be gettin’ raped an’ shit it is already too late.
These kinds of “salt of the Earth” folks are like low-hanging fruit that is ripe for the picking once a certain critical mass of diversity is reached. After forty years, I went to visit my college alma mater once Covid flatlined and I could not believe that the Chamber of Commerce in every whitebread small Idaho town was now flying Pride flags. They will probably be busing in the Negroes soon.
I don’t know what the answer is exactly but one problem is Christianity itself which basically says to “trust the plan, and all will be made good in the fullness of time.” Even when and where race-mixing is low such as in Idaho today, it can’t be ignored forever.
The idea that all this would be better somehow in the old country, I find to be somewhat dubious. I read David Irving’s book Banged Up about his 2005 arrest and experiences with Thoughtcrime. He was sentenced to three years in Austria for saying something vaguely Fascist but mercifully only served thirteen months in prisons chock full of Kebabs and Golliwogs?
Also, if we are talking about raw resources, the Europeans did not have enough of these to survive and prevail in the last World War. Germany was critically short on vital things like nickel, chromium, and oil. Expensive synthetic oil plants were a partial solution but these were easy to bomb into oblivion once thousand-bomber raids became the norm. They did not even try to build the atomic bomb because the price tag for the necessary industrial-scale research effort was too daunting.
I think that although White human capital should never be underestimated, adding some millions more pink bodies to the European mix from the Anglosphere would hardly square the circle.
It seems to me that quitting the North American continent would hardly be a winning proposition. If any place on Earth could be self-sufficient on the basis of raw resources, it would be the USA. Even the father of Autarky himself said that “Germany must export or die.” That is not true for Americans. The only thing that the American West is short of is water. For that you have to manage dams and operate canals, etc. We are going to have to face more stringent conservation measures, for sure, but the highest consumer of liquid gold is not swimming pools but agriculture itself. Rain does not “follow the plow” here.
If one watches TV you would think that the USA is 80 percent Black and mixed-race. This is completely false. A certain troublesome tribe owns the corporate mass-media and every television commercial therefore tries to meme this into reality. Okay, so North America is some sort of flypaper trap for Whites. Sorry, but I think that is nonsense. Europeans, especially Germans, have to take credit for some of their own Commies and traitors without pulling out the ZOG victim card. They have been enthusiastically doing their own denazification for far longer than I have been around and I am not a young man.
The Europeans are the ones who put Nationalists into jail and get them banged-up as Irving put it on Hate Crimes and Thoughtcrimes. So far these efforts in the United States have been tame by comparison.
I made this point to the venerable Holocaust Revisionist Germar Rudolf once. He was on the lam for Thoughtcrimes in Germany and he said that the present system was “imposed” upon Germany by NATO or by some other “external” means.
I said that was nonsense and that the USA was the one place where such dissent could freely operate without the hobnailed boot pressing on your face forever. Sure you might get cracked down on for illegally crossing the grass at a WN protest or at a David Irving book signing if you were not very careful, but freedom-of-speech is still the law of the land.
And it is certainly not fair that Antifa and the grungy Leftists are celebrated for the same disruptive pranks that they then try to throw Nationalists into the gulag for as “terrorism.” But to say that the Germans *themselves* were not imposing their own personal Orwell was just absurd. They have ruthlessly internalized the bitter Kool-Aide since long before most of us were born.
It is not at all hard to end immigration but it takes some political resolve that so far has not been found. I am open to suggestions on how to change that.
As far as dealing with 150 million Untermenschen, well, they were incentivized to come here in the first place, and they can be incentivized to get the hell out or be forced to leave. I would even support some form of slavery Reparations if Blacks gave up their citizenship and permanently left for Liberia or wherever on the Dark Continent. Maybe fix it so that their modest pension ends immediately if they leave Monrovia and tool off to Europe instead.
Once we have a national-racial consensus, we can stop all immigration by decree and then work on the biggest demographic problems first. I think all it would take is to throw a few thousand Communist traitors out of the ivory towers and academia and into concentration camps and then start making some very big and long overdue changes. If it ever does boil down to race-war, well, bullets are cheap and lethal gas is even cheaper.
Without a national-racial consensus ─ and there is hardly any such thing in the Old Country either ─ it won’t in any way matter anyway.
The State would have to be defined in a different way than is traditional for Liberal Democracies, i.e., as a Volksgenossen or racial community; then the “Enemies of the State” have to be punished severely for their crimes and disloyalty.
There is an excellent 1977 book called Soldiers of Destruction by the historian Charles W. Sydnor, Jr. about SS-Obergruppenführer Theodor Eicke (1892-1943), who was the second commandant of the Dachau concentration camp, and then during the war founded the 3rd SS-Panzer Division “Totenkopf.”
Eicke was a great man. The Sydnor book has considerable anti-NS bias but it does fairly show Eicke’s philosophy for dealing with “Enemies of the State” and returning deviants to the straight and narrow path as contributing members of an organic and authentic German racial community, a traditional Nation-State.
Perhaps a dozen or so years was not long enough to fully root out the Bolshevik menace in Germany, but I think much can be learned from the effort. Eicke personally executed the traitor Ernst Röhm.
If memory serves, Eicke was the penologist who came up with the Dachau camp slogan itself, Arbeit Macht Frei ─ work brings freedom. Auschwitz Commandant Rudolf Hoess brought the same slogan with him to Poland, where it was less suited for a wartime PoW or forced-labor camp system than for criminal and political corrections. But the point is that some of these urbane German Communists had never wielded a shovel in their lives, let alone a hammer or sickle. It did not take them long to get the message.
In any case, the hard part is getting the national consensus on doing something decisive in the first place. Once the dam breaks, the technical details follow easily.
Sure it looks like there is national consensus when the mass-media gins up a war-scare, but this is very thin at its base and to call it patriotism is silly. Who today still remembers the yellow ribbons and the plastic flags on the lawns after 9/11?
Obviously something has to be changed before the demographics do become irrelevant and we are lost forever to history. Nobody has any easy answers.
In any case, I find the idea that the Europeans are not likewise spinning their folkish wheels to be quite amusing. I wish they were in such good shape.
North America and the you-know-whos could disappear from the face of the Earth tomorrow and it seems like the Europeans, led by the Germans, would unfortunately still not see the light. How many Golliwogs are rotting in their prisons again?
Some Left-leaning White Nationalists like Eric Striker even advocate for the day that we give up our U.S. nuclear arsenal. Yeah, no dice. That’s not gonna make White Christmas come around any sooner for Europe or anywhere else.

Interesting analysis, as usual, Mr. Steuben. The Puritans indeed adhered to a desert-like “Old Testament” version of Christianity. They frequently referenced the “howling wilderness” beyond their small settlements; there was a stark line separating their city on a hill from Indian territory. It somewhat reminds me of the ancient Egyptians, who drew sharp distinctions of their own between their small, civilized band of cultivated soil near the river and that of the desert, a wilderness often symbolized by the “howling” jackal.
Maybe all those Americans moving around are just fleeing to the next mostly-white suburb. Not everything is genetic.
