    Memelord Dalí
    Remembering Salvador Dalí
    (May 11, 1904–January 23, 1989)

Philippe Halsman photographs Salvador Dalí, Decline of Hair on the Face, 1954.

    1,741 words

It’s the most basic thing in the world: You can look at a rock, think it’s a bear, and run away. Or you can glimpse a bear, assume it’s a rock, and get eaten. Over time, evolution will select for seeing bears, when in fact, 99 times out of 100, it’s just rocks. Then clever fools will come and say that believing in a bear infestation is primitive superstition, and that they, taught by “science” and “logic,” have surmised that there are no bears among the rocks. In fact, bears do not even exist. (more…)

    Conspiracy Nation

Detail, Rembrandt, The Conspiracy of Claudius Civilis, ca. 1661-62.

    1,575 words

There has been a lot of talk lately about the mainstreaming of conspiracy theories. They are catching on among people who are not the usual conspiracy theory “type”: eccentric, slightly autistic, and with an overactive imagination. Now, conspiracy theories are beginning to catch on with normies and neurotypicals.

In three years, QAnon has gone from an obscure message board phenomenon to an unstoppable cultural juggernaut. (more…)

    We Are All Crazy Now

    3,144 words

Did you know that there are only two countries in the world where it’s legal to advertise pharmaceutical drugs on television? One is the U.S., of course, and the other is New Zealand. I remember the early days of those ads, back in the 1990s. For example, there was the classic Zyrtec ad that showed someone climbing a mountain. You had to guess what the drug was for, because back then, they weren’t allowed to be more explicit. All the ad said was “ask your doctor.” My, how times have changed. (more…)

The Paranoid Style in White Nationalism

    1,833 words

If you think this essay is about you, you might be paranoid.

Guardians of the conventional wisdom frequently accuse White Nationalists of being “paranoid” when we express fears of non-white crime, white demographic decline, race replacement immigration, and ultimately white extinction and white genocide.

The Paranoid Style in Michiko Kakutani

    1,821 words

Recently, the New York Times’s former book reviewer Michiko Kakutani treated us to a 3,000-word summary of everything that’s wrong with American life and politics, entitled “The End of Normal” (December 29, 2019).

At least, the column is attributed to Ms. Kakutani, and carries her byline. Actually this farrago of nonsense looks like something a committee of ghosts might produce (more…)

    “Doxing Only Works Once”
    Greg Johnson on Red Ice

    64 words

Henrik Palmgren and I had a wide-ranging 2-hour conversation on doxing, including the Millennial Woes and Mike Enoch cases, Hailgate, the self-defeating trap of identifying White Nationalism with National Socialism, and the necessity of ending the “trolls’ veto” of real world community-building and networking. You can listen here. I want to thank Henrik and the whole Red Ice team for making this possible.  (more…)

    10 Cloverfield Lane

    Cloverfield1,608 words

10 Cloverfield Lane is an interesting piece of work, and one relevant to the national question, for two related reasons. Firstly, there is the theme of alien invasion, familiar from the contemporary political situation with regard to immigration. Secondly, there is the character of Howard, a man quite dedicated to keeping himself and others safe from this invasion. (more…)
