It’s always sad to see someone become everything they once hated, especially if they hated all the right things.

As hard as it might be to believe, there was a fertile patch of time about thirty to forty years ago when the mere mention of radio “shock jock” Howard Stern’s name sent waves of revulsion among the celebrity class. Stern was rated a little better than Hitler; at best, he was on par with cockroaches. The hatred he used to inspire was so unhinged, one might call it Stern Derangement Syndrome. (more…)

Pope Urges Europeans to Bend Over, Grab Their Ankles, and Let the Boat People In

Pope Francis is the first pontiff who was born and raised outside of Europe since 741 AD. He helms the Catholic Church, whose ranks, according to 2010 statistics, are composed of a mere 32% of people who live in Europe and North America. The Caucasian Quotient dips even lower when one considers that about 20 million Catholics in the United States are “Latino.” (more…)

Once again, a deluge of digital detritus washed in on my MS Edge start page. This cybernetic flotsam always gives me such hope for the future of humanity that it warms my flinty little heart.
