Hi Greg,
The “new man” part of the roundtable discussion was interesting; and it seemed like you thought that the questioner was playing “gotcha” (and maybe was), but I’m reading this article I found in the CC catacombs that mentions what he might have been referring to (i.e. Codreanu’s New Man, Omul Nou).
In this game, you’re certainly better at “smelling a rat” than I am, but I figured I’d put this out for your consideration, just in case it’s applicable.
This Q&A roundtable podcast format is highly enjoyable, by the way!
In Which battle you’d like to fight in, I’m reminded of Wordsworth:
“Who is the happy warrior? Who is he that all men at arms should wish to be?”
That doesn’t sound like a man who’d like to march to inevitable victory. It is the hopeless battle. When there is no potential of survival. The Happy Warrior will take the stand any rational man would abandon. That is the warrior spirit that wins.
Stonewall Jackson was a good answer by Mr. Goad. The conservatives have made an art of choosing battles they think they can win without losing ‘respectability’.
Thus they have always and will always lose.
