New Year’s is one of my favorite holidays, which I spend quiet reflection rather than in raucous partying. It is good to review a year’s worth of achievements and failings, learn what one can, vow to do better in the New Year, and then—most importantly of all—shut the door on the past and try not to think of it again.
The greatest thing I learned from Nietzsche is his vitalism. Life is lived forward, in the future, and the striving of life upward and onward can be impeded by the wrong orientation to the past. Regret, nostalgia, and bitterness all arise from an unhealthy fixation on the past. Thus one needs to learn from the past and then forget it. A healthy mind, like a healthy digestive tract, extracts the lessons of experience and swiftly discards the dross.
I am particularly pleased to close the door on 2013, which in many ways was the worst year of my life. First, it began with the longest illness I have ever suffered: six weeks of the ’flu and bronchitis that would not die. Then there was the move. Then there was Mike Polignano’s departure, which necessitating training myself in a whole range of new skills. Then my mother ended the year with a near-fatal car accident (she is still in the hospital in rehabilitation).
At the beginning of 2013, I was filled with plans, but none of them included a margin for major upheavals. But, my mother aside, all of that is history. It’s so 2013.
In spite of it all, a lot was accomplished in 2013. Counter-Currents published 841 posts, including a major symposium on the 200th birthday of Richard Wagner. I wrote 64 new articles and reviews (not including newsletters, announcements, and other insubstantial pieces), translated 15 pieces from French, released 31 philosophy lectures, conducted 8 audio and print interviews, took part in 3 roundtables, gave 4 interviews, and organized a couple of gatherings in the real world.
Counter-Currents also brought out six books in 2013:

We also brought out four E-book editions:
- Anthony M. Ludovici’s The Lost Philosopher
- Savitri Devi’s Gold in the Furnace
- Savitri Devi’s Defiance
- Savitri Devi’s The Non-Hindu Indians and Indian Unity
Plus we did E-books of our regular titles as well.
But there were some epic failures:
1. Our attempt to launch a new podcasting network to replace the Voice of Reason had to be scrapped. But we did fight our way back to running three podcasts per week: The Stark Truth, a philosophy lecture, and a Friday Counter-Currents Radio show.
2. A number of books that I planned for 2013 have been pushed into 2014, including The Lightning and the Sun, the release date of which has been continually postponed.
With all that said, in 2014, Counter-Currents will bring you more of the first rate books, articles, reviews, interviews, podcasts, and translations that you have come to expect and that we are so happy to deliver. More from Collin Cleary and Jef Costello, Andrew Hamilton and Gregory Hood, Kerry Bolton and Matt Parrott, James O’Meara and Ted Sallis, Robert Stark and Jack Donovan, Leo Yankevich and Juleigh Howard-Hobson, F. Roger Devlin and John Morgan, etc.
But there will be some changes for the better. So these are my resolutions for Counter-Currents in 2014:
1. Leave a margin for catastrophe. It really boils down to the old Delphic injunctions: “Know thyself” and “Everything in moderation.”
2. Manage expectations. When a book appears on a given day, that event can be perceived as a pleasant surprise or a grave disappointment based simply on the release date we set.
The same sum of money at the end of a fundraiser can be either a success or a failure depending on the goal we announced. Our fundraiser brought in $43,095.29 in 2013, which was about the same as in 2012. But in 2012, we aimed for $40,000 and overshot our goal, whereas in 2013 we aimed for $50,000 and failed to meet it. The facts remain the same, but their perceptions as success or failure are based on the expectations we set. So in 2014, I am not going to set myself up for such easily avoided failures.
When it comes to release dates, I will announce them only when the book is actually being printed. That worked well with our most recent titles, Leo Yankevich’s Journey Late at Night and Andy Nowicki’s Lost Violent Souls. Or we will not announce them at all until they are available. This worked well with our recent Savitri Devi E-book releases.
3. Publish more book reviews. We are working to increase our review coverage of all significant books published in “this thing of ours,” plus mainstream books of interest to our readers. So expect more reviews of books from Arktos, Black House Publishing, Washington Summit Publishers, and others in 2014. We want Counter-Currents to be the reviewer of record for New Right books.
4. Resume monthly newsletters, with traffic statistics. When Counter-Currents migrated to a new webhosting company, we no longer had traffic statistics commensurable with our previous statistics. Since then, we have been pretty much flying blind. But as I write, we are migrating to a new host that supports our old statistics program. So at the end of January, I should be able to resume newsletters which will contain detailed traffic statistics and lists of our top articles and podcasts.
5. Resolve the tax-deductibility issue. We are working toward the final resolution of the US federal income tax deductibility of the Counter-Currents Foundation in early 2014. Stay tuned.

Wilders and his PVV are a bit of a mystery to me. I voted for Fortuyn and Wilders since 2002, but not during the last elections, when Wilders blew up the most rightwing government possible under Dutch political circumstances. He is married to a Hungarian Jewess, has strong ties to Israel, lived there for quite some time. And really, should we be expected to be saved by someone, whose party meeting room in The Hague government quarters looks like this:

Wilders refuses to reveal where he gets his money from, but whistle blowers from within the party have said he gets it from New York, from the likes of Alan Dershowitz and Pamela Geller. I am afraid he is a neocon and de facto American agent. He is busy fighting Islam as a religion/ideology, not fighting to preserve Dutch identity. In his view Muslims are welcome to the Netherlands if they distance themselves from Islam. Right. He got big on the issue of not letting Turkey become a member of the EU, which is good, but now he quietly dropped that theme and now is waging war against the EU, together with his sidekick Marine Le Pen. Wilders can’t stand Germany and I am afraid neither can Marine Le Pen. So, I am a little skeptical about this kind of a revival of European nationalism, as I have no interest in returning to the conditions of 1914. My political position is essentially neo-Gaullist, that is Europe of the Fatherlands, perfectly expressed by the, I believe, American-Irish white nationalist Michael O’Meara:

The Paris-Berlin-Moscow axis is what people loyal to European civilization should aim for, including the European enclaves of a future balkanized North-America. For this purpose the EU and euro should be accepted and reformed from within, get rid of liberalism, but not blow it up. Furthermore, Russia and the Ukraine should be invited to form a new Greater European economic and military alliance. Most Ukrainians are ready for that, but Russia will be as well, as soon as the US has stepped down from global hegemonic aspirations and a rising China of 1300 million becomes the new pain in the neck. China can be contained by an European-Russian and north-American alliance and that is what we should aim for: a Greater European-Chinese duopoly for the 21st century.

You were wrong in implying that LR is moving towards WN positions: just like Rothbard he’s always been negrophobic and favourable to “freedom of association” and “spontaneous segregation”: there’s nothing new under the sun.
By the way, the “Europe of Nations” envisaged by De Gaulle categorically excluded the Atlantic Archipelago, just like Thatcher he firmly believed that the pond is far shallower than the channel. Anyhow, there’s not much we can expect from America: as Mr. Johnson aptly put it, they’re broke now and they’ve squandered their hegemony to bring forth formidable anti-white forces, which we’ll have to fend off on our own. The removal of American influence from the continent will also entail the abandonment of English as lingua franca: we’ll be forced to choose between French and German, I’d opt for French because post-1945 is an American-established zombie, with no vital forces left in her, France has been the beacon of the Nouvelle Droite but I fear the multiracial slant Alain Soral has given to it. What Fred Reed is allowed to say goes a little beyond merely “freedom of association”. The possibility of a social explosion is seriously considered.
I know that during the war the Roosevelt/Churchill gang could drink de Gaulle’s blood and that after the war de Gaulle understood what colossal stupidity the French had committed by letting themselves being drawn into WW2 on behalf of Anglo-Soviet (read: Jewish) interests and subsequently wanted nothing to have to do with Anglosphere and started to repair the relationship with Germany, but that was in the days that Anglosphere reigned supreme and the 1945 European loot was divided by the US and USSR. Meanwhile continental Europe is united under one currency, has the largest economy and the most Europeans (500 million) plus another 200+ million Slavic Europeans ready to turn westwards. ZOG-USA has merely 180 million Europeans, so it is not difficult to see that soon, after the fall of the dollar and subsequent social implosion of multicult USA, the center of gravity of world politics will return to Eurasia, where it has always been, except for an intermezzo of a few decades, the Jewish intermezzo.

And than there is the rest of the world, first of all China and Russia, that is eager to ‘de-Americanize’ the world, as a Chinese journalist recently put it, no doubt with approval of his higher ups. Meanwhile the Euro-American middle class is being wiped out because of:

2. bail-outs to compensate banks for the worthless mortgages owned by Leroy
3. futile wars on behalf of the Israel lobby
4. 50 million people and counting on welfare/food-stamps
It won’t be long before the Euro-Americans will decide in great numbers that being a citizen of the US is no longer in their best interest and they will try to secede. Obviously the Lobby, minorities (the new proletariat) and many white weasels will attempt to keep the goose with the golden eggs within the confinements of the US tax farm, recreating somewhat the conditions of Russia 1917: again the Reds against the Whites (pun intended).
So, although it is true that the good general wanted to have nothing to do with Anglosphere, that does not mean that it is not in the interest of Europeans to help Euro-Americans achieve the escape from Washington. Because if that does not succeed, a Jewish run ‘neo-bolshevik USA’, with the ‘obstinate Whites’ in the FEMA-Gulag, could ally itself in the future with China against Europe and Russia, recreating more or less the catastrophic surrounding of continental Europe in 1941 by the Roosevelt-Stalin alliance (the latter in reality originating from 1933, when Roosevelt diplomatically recognized the human slaughterhouse USSR, what no civilized nation had done). So I am not so sure about the wisdom of ‘letting America go’. Better have Euro-American enclaves as a (junior) partner of Boreas/The North.
About the not very pressing topic of the lingua franca of the Paris-Berlin-Moscow European world of the future, I do not think that either French or German do have any chance of becoming the new lingua france. That meant no Entente Cordiale and consequently no WWI: it never made any sense, especially for France. France and Germany have always been more similar than any ot them was to the Atlantic Archipelago: this is something that neither Maurras nor Hitler seemed to understand.
This is no academical disquisition because even if White America wakes up, it won’t be in any position to help us, forget about a WN Overlord, that won’t happen. I don’t think that ‘France subordinating to the brand new German national state’ was a realistic option in 1871. Europe ruled the world and America was out of the picture in Europe back then. WW1 was essentially masterminded in London. The 19th century was the British century, but all of a sudden, out of the blue, the German state emerged. After twenty years later, the consequences for Britain and France, #1 and #2 in the European pecking order, became clear. Fashoda was the last time British and French interests clashed, after that they decided to conspire against Germany in order to destroy it, because it had taken the lead, based on population numbers and, more important, ‘Made in Germany’.

Until 1870 the locomotives had a plate saying ‘Manchester’, after that it became ‘Berlin’. That illustrates on micro-level what had happened on the macro-level.
WW1 was a trap set up for Germany, concoted in London (key person sir Edward Grey). War aims:
1. London: destruction of Germany
2. Paris: idem plus Alsace-Lorraine
3. Moscow: Bosporus
4. Berlin: none, apart from not becoming destroyed
WW1 made sense for London and Paris and ended in ‘mission accomplised’.
Hitler initially had no European aims, he merely wanted to restore Germany as a great European power. WW2 was forced upon Germany and never wanted by Hitler.
Don’t get me wrong, I expect nothing from America. America was the greatest disaster in the history of European civilization and the white race. But the end is in sight, China is about to pull the plug from under the dollar, which could initiate the balkenization of the US. That will be the hour of rebirth of Europe.
However, I do consider Britain to be a basket-case, unlike America. Britain saw the return of the Jews, first under Cromwell, than under that Jewish financed operation called the ‘Glorious Revolution’, when the Dutch invaded and conquered Britain and northern Ireland and finally tilted the balance towards Jew-friendly Protestantism. That was 1689, where the rot in America started only in 1913 (read warnings Henry Ford). In the US there is still a lot of ‘continental European derived DNA’. Britain never had a serious national party, like France, Austria or Flanders. I don’t see the US as an extension of Britain, that’s what British like to think perhaps, but there is for example a lot of opposition and irritation against types like Piers Morgan. British value the ‘special relationship’ much more than the Americans. I am not talking about Americans ‘joining us’, I am talking about safeguarding that Jewish rule over America is going to stop. It did in the USSR, so I cannot see why it could not end in the US.
I am not convinced of the necessity of planting a new language onto the people’s of Europe, they already have a language, only the elite needs a lingua franca. They probably will continue to use English, collapse or no collapse. After all, Latin was spoken in Europe 1000 years after the collapse of the Roman empire.

France’s bellicosity after 1871 was due to territorial mutilation, not to the loss of European hegemony: this was the result of the Congress of Vienna, not of the Peace of Frankfurt. The French leadership would have been willing to give up large swathes of colonial possessions in exchange for Alsace-Lorraine, this prospect was ventilated, among others, by Onésime Reclus (read here: http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k80132h) who frankly avowed the French decline and said that the Indochina would have been better placed in German hands, whence they could have managed to threaten Anglosaxon hegemony in Asia, if only the Germans could be brought to relinquish Alsace-Lorraine. He clearly sensed the coming of a terrific clash among the Anglosaxon and the German titans, but wanted France to steer clear of it, actually he still deemed Anglosaxons to still be France’s worst enemies and cherished the prospect of their lust for power being blunted. During WWI he obviously switched to outright Bochophobia, but his early proposals clearly smack of Vichysme avant le Vichysme: a far cry from the spirit of the Entente Cordiale: after 1871 just like after 1940, the prospect of a Franco-German rapprochement was crippled by German stubbornness and hostility, not by French revanchisme. That puts things in perspective.

That’s okay.The current system (of a smaller number of high-quality interviews/discussions) is probably even better than attempting hours-a-day of live radio, IMO. The latter *necessarily* lowers quality and disperses listenership. Focusing on putting out three high-quality ones a week is better. Some of these recent podcasts (the Dharma guy, Kojeve) have been incredible. I can’t really think of a recent bad one. GJ himself always does well on ‘CC radio’; a good radio presence.

Actually, I want to post this and reply to it because it is a good example of the kind of anti-intellectual and dishonest discourse that pollutes the online movement.

There are two ways of talking about the Jewish problem: the rational way, exemplified by Kevin MacDonald, and the kooky way — which includes paranoia — which brings disrepute down on our whole enterprise by tainting it with the odor of madness.

Brazen false dichotomy. It is BOTH an intellectual problem AND a race problem. The mere existence of hostile non-white hominids loping about the planet is no threat to the existence of our race. There was a time not so long ago when whites virtually ruled this planet. Now we are facing genocide in our own homelands. The cause of this great reversal of fortunes has everything to do with intellectual errors: errors about race, Jews, morality, economics, and politics. Our enemies have hacked our mental software and programmed us for self-destruction. We are not going to save ourselves until we can correct the intellectual errors that are preventing us from seeing our problems and taking action to solve them.
6. You write that this fellow “feels that whites should recognize that all non-whites are basically inferior beings.”
That’s rich. There are millions of non-whites who are far superior to this fellow in terms of both intelligence and intellectual honesty.
