On May 22, 2017, an American pop-star named Ariana Grande played a concert at the Manchester Arena in the north of England. The target market for Ms. Grande’s music is young girls, thousands of whom were in attendance. They became targets of a different kind. Salman Abedi was a young Muslim man, and one would not ordinarily expect him to be attending such an example of Western decadence. But he went anyway.
