Women’s basketball has surged in popularity among American sports fans over the past few years, thanks largely to the shooting skills of Caitlin Clark. Clark, a 22-year-old who hails from the state of Iowa, recently became the all-time leading scorer in the history of college basketball. Throughout her four years playing for the University of Iowa, Clark entertained spectators with her unmatched ability to make shots from long distances. The broadcast of last season’s women’s national championship game between Clark’s Iowa team and the University of South Carolina drew 18.9 million viewers, which not only set the viewership record for a women’s basketball game but actually received higher ratings than the next night’s men’s championship game.
