One of our readers has asked my opinion of Charles Murray’s new book Facing Reality: Two Truths about Race in America (New York: Encounter Books, 2021). I breezed through the ebook version of Facing Reality in just a few hours. I think that this book’s publication is an encouraging sign, and I hope that it will be widely read. America has long denied fundamental truths about race, but in the past year, the costs of these lies have become unbearable. Lipton Matthews over at Taki’s Magazine is giving White Nationalists some advice, and I think we’d better sit up and listen. In his essay “Cultural Whiteness,” he tells us we should stop being White Nationalists and instead view whiteness as a “philosophy of progress.” In other words, we should push for a society that is “culturally white,” but racially not so much. Through ballot harvesting, Mark Zuckerberg-funded “election administrators,” acceptance of dubious votes, and good old fashioned urban corruption, the Democrats were able to deny Donald Trump a victory on Election Day. In 2016, Donald Trump ran as a populist and won. In 2020, his bid for re-election followed the standard Republican playbook. There was a lot of talk about the stock market, very little populist talk about immigration, globalization, and protectionism. (more…)

But identity is politically impotent unless a people is willing to assert itself, to take its own side in a fight. Thus the third pillar of white identity politics has to be that fighting spirit.
