Donald Trump & the $5,000 Baby Bonus

Spencer J. Quinn

1,405 words

During his reign as Roman emperor, Augustus Caesar acted to reverse the declining birthrate of his people. He passed various pro-family laws which penalized the unmarried and the childless, discouraged miscegenation between Romans and non-Romans, taxed prostitution, and criminalized homosexuality. The Romans had been concerned about declining birthrates for centuries, and under Augustus’ successor Tiberius, it was even considered treason to pay for brothel services with coins bearing the face of the emperor.

To modern ears perfectly inured to the ascendency of liberalism this may sound draconian. However, some among the Romans understood that a civilization with a dwindling ethnic core cannot survive for long. Efforts must be made not to stamp out all ethnic diversity (because a relatively small and controlled amount of that is inevitable) but to preserve the genetic homogeneity and thus the prominence of this core people. This meant (and still means) being pro-family—that is, striving for virginal brides, faithful husbands, and lots and lots of children. A society which incentivizes such things—and de-incentivizes their opposites—will have a good shot of sticking around a long time.

Here’s a passage from Robert Graves’ 1938 novel Count Belisarius which offers a glimpse of what can eventually happen when pro-family laws are either not enacted or ignored. In recounting Rome’s disastrous defeat at Adrianople in 378 AD, young Belisarius states:

To be Roman is to belong not to Rome, a city in Italy, but to the world. The Roman legionaries who perished with Valens were Gauls and Spaniards and Britons and Dalmations and many other sorts; of true-born Romans among them there cannot have been many hundreds.

This scene takes place in the early sixth century, after the fall of the Western Empire. So Romans at the time had good reason to feel uncertain about their future. Earlier in the chapter, an elder Roman, pining for the Empire’s glory days, says:

It is long years since a soldier with true Roman blood in his veins led any of the armies of the Emperor. Nowadays all the higher commands have somehow fallen into the hands of hired barbarians—Goths, Vandals, Gepids, Huns, Arabians—and the result is that the old Roman military system, which once built up the greatest empire that the world has ever known, has lately degenerated beyond all recognition.

Any of this sound familiar?

Ethnocentrists of all stripes have a similar worry: that declining birthrates lead to the ultimate replacement of a people by outsiders and are the slow-motion death rattle of civilizations. Reversible, yes, for a time—after which, who knows?

The bullet that grazed Donald Trump’s ear in the summer of 2024 must have instilled the same worry into the mind of the once and future American president. Since re-entering the White House, Trump has enacted policies which really do enhance the prominence of American citizens, often to the detriment on non-citizens. If we look past his characteristic trolling and braggadocio, we can judge his tariffs as efforts not only to bring manufacturing back to the United States but to strongarm Mexico and Canada into restricting the flow of immigrants, criminals, and narcotics across their borders. With more jobs, fewer drugs, and less crime, it’s fair to presume that Americans will have an easier time getting married and having children.

Despite Trump never mentioning race in these initiatives, many non-whites suspect that he is secretly assisting whites at the expense of other races. This is correct, of course, but with only those non-whites who unfairly take advantage of whites. Trump’s pushes against DEI and disparate-impact liability are good examples of this. If non-whites wish to pull their own weight in America (as many do) they will benefit from Trump’s policies as much as whites do.

This all came to a head late last month when the Trump Administration revealed that it was considering policies to encourage American women to have more children. Front and center is awarding a $5,000 “baby bonus” to mothers. Also being considered are government-funded programs to teach women about their menstrual cycles so they would know when best to conceive. Another idea is to require that 30 percent of Fulbright scholarships be awarded to those who are married or have children.

As the New York Post reports:

Birth rates in the US have long been slipping, hitting a new low in 2023 with just under 3.6 million babies born that year — making the typical American family with 2.5 children a thing of the past. In 2023, American families had just under two children on average. The total number of babies born was also about 76,000 less than 2022 and the lowest one-year tally since 1979.

As with Augustus Caesar two millennia ago, Donald Trump is attempting to reverse the sliding birthrate. And this is a good thing. Yes, Matt Walsh is correct that Trump should tweak the baby bonus to apply only to married women. But still, Trump is on the right track. However, not everyone is impressed. The ladies on MSNBC’s The View predictably blasted Trump, and their reasons were intriguing to say the least.

Whoopi Goldberg’s typically vapid take was basically that Donald Trump and his people somehow “don’t know how women’s bodies work, and they don’t know what it costs to raise a child or just have a child.” According to Goldberg, $5,000 is chump change within the context of Trump’s dismantling of the entirely ineffective Department of Education—as if black kids have no chance at getting an education without billions being passed around by Democrat cronies in the Ed. Biz.

“I don’t like the idea that somebody is saying, I’m going to pay you to have more kids. I know we’re not allowed to bring up the other times people suggested that. But I will tell you this is not the first time in the country, but let me just tell you this, 1 billion in funding for schools and food banks to buy food was cut,” Goldberg said, before listing off more examples.

“My point is, it seems to me that this – everything this administration seems to be doing is telling people not to have children. Why not make sure that kids that we already have a shot at good schooling? Why not?”

Sunny Hostin’s take however was much more revealing and insidious given the fact that she nosedived straight into race like a hungry sow into a trough. Because of course she did.

“I want to reframe the issue a little bit because when I look at something like this, these proposals, I want to know why, and I want to know who is making them. And so when I looked into that, they’re saying that the US birth rate is declining. However, in 2024 there was a 1% increase in US births, but that increase was with Hispanic mothers and Asian mothers. Aha! So, they don’t seem to be concerned about that increase. They seem to be more concerned about a decrease in other populations,” she said.

Fellow liberal co-host Joy Behar encouraged Hostin to just “say it” before eventually just saying it herself, adding, “White children!”

Griffin pushed Hostin on whether the administration had actually said they were worried about white families, to which Hostin responded that she was just giving “facts.”

Of course, no one in the Trump Administration is barring non-white women from this program, if it ever does see the light of day. This would be unconstitutional and an obvious blunder of statesmanship. No, Donald Trump would never do that even if he wanted to. And that’s the thing. Sunny Hostin is accusing Trump of the thoughtcrime of wanting to. In this woman’s pin head, Trump intends to bring more white people into the world and that is a bad thing.

Imagine the amount of hate someone would need to oppose a race of people wanting to have more of its own kind. This woman, in effect, is cheering on the waning white birthrate and gets indignant upon hearing that someone might—might!—want to stop it. And people on the Right are the haters? It’s comments like these from Sunny Hostin which reveal not anything bad about Trump or the Right, but the moral bankruptcy and sheer hypocrisy of people on the left.

And since Hostin feels the need to bring up race, so can I. Hostin, according to this story from People.com, has a fairly unique racial makeup. She is half-black, a quarter Puerto Rican, and a quarter Jewish.

Explains a lot, doesn’t it?

They’re right, though, that this is chump change and would be ineffective, especially among whites who can think beyond the immediate gratification of receiving $5000.

The declining birth rate is not really due to economics, but culture, and to the degree it’s economic, it’s related to women in the workplace. It won’t be reversed until the causes – female careerism and late marriage – are eliminated.

Something else has to be going on there. In the 2000s, the German government tried something similar (I don’t remember the details, would have to look them up), with next to no success. Because of that, the whole “We need to import new Germans” narrative began.

Now, of course, the program’s failure could be explained by said careerism and late marriage; but I was talking to my mother about the whole topic recently. She is certainly not what one would call a career woman, although she had a job for most of her life. What she said was that, since she had grown up with six siblings, she didn’t want a lot of children. In fact, she only wanted one (ended up with two). Of course, that’s just her, and you can’t make a rule out of it, but it would appear that many of her peers had similar ideas.

So there must be more to it, and I don’t know if there’s a quick and easy fix.

I do recall that East Germany encouraged their college students to get married and start families, and that worked.  Most likely they were trying to keep their educated classes from wanting to leave the country.  Still, even though the government had bad motivations, it worked out for the best.

That’s an interesting observation. YouTuber Tarastro (yes, he’s a Tarot reader and astrologer – don’t judge me) who’s originally from the GDR recently stated that, as bad as the system was, it never tried to destroy German patriotism or tried to make its citizens feel ashamed of being Germans, contrary to what was happening in West Germany.

So might the population decline we’re seeing be a result of decades of eroding (((American))) influence in the West?

Depending on the country, there are a lot of factors at work besides just demoralization propaganda.  In many places, fertility is brought down by careerism and consumerism.  High taxes are another problem – much of it is people who can’t afford children because they’re paying for other people’s children.  (The last I heard, which is a while back, is that on average, White Americans pay $5000/year to support illegitimate Black children.)  I understand South Korea has one of the world’s worst infertility problems, because the cost of living is unsustainably high.  Perhaps that’s from real estate speculation.  Japan’s economy has been lousy for decades, and epidemic levels of agoraphobia aren’t helping families form.

Not surprising that a mongrel like Hostin detests White people so much.

If the program does become reality then it has to be only for married women or it would just be an incentive for the black and brown masses to pump out even more babies to replace native White Americans.

Long term though these programs won’t work as the Dems can just end it/change it in some way when they gain power. Only in a dictatorship is massive change possible but as history shows the Roman empire still collapsed and they didn’t even have blacks to deal with.

Junk science. White birth rates are DECLINING because whites have to pay for everything as prices continue to increase. Whites are being priced out of thier own country. it’s systemic red-lining of the entire country. The cost of raising a child correctly now is half a million dollars. who has that? Only the jews and a handful of dwindling whites. On the flip side, minority births are INCREASING  because medicaid, food stamps, section 8, free this, free that. This is by design. The 5k giveaway will do nothing but increase births on the lower end. 5k is a joke compared to the 500k it takes to raise a child. Whites simply are slowly being erased generation by generation. It’s the slow death-choke. The 20th century Germans were right. General Ludendorff, Hitler, Himmler, and the rest, as we’ve been lied to at a profound level. Vote national socialism or die.

It doesn’t really take $500,000 to raise a kid, though, and the cost gets lower for each kid you have. You need some furniture, which is a modest up-front cost, food (maybe about half of an adult’s worth on average), clothes (which you can get from consignment stores and hand down), and basic education (free if your public schools aren’t awful, almost free if you can have your wife homeschool, or maybe $100,000 if you go the private route). University is unnecessary for most children – maybe one in five will truly benefit – so maybe it averages out to another $25,000 or so at a decent state school. Throw in some extracurriculars and toys, but those don’t have to cost that much and many can be skipped.

My research found that within the first year Adolf Hitler was voted Chancellor, the birthrate increased by 22%.

Of course there’s much more, like there was virtually no homeless, no unemployment, no crime, etc.

Ban women from the workplace.  Its women competing with men that lowers birthrates.  Giving $5k to Whores to birth another nog isn’t solving anything.

This is why they really hate Elon Musk because they know what he represents and what he knows and what he ultimately is. He is a white South African who has seen what anti-whiteism has done to his country and by the grace of God he’s the right hand man to the President of the United States. They don’t say it out loud but they collectively represent the great white hopes of the entire white world and the Whoopi Jewbergs of the clown world can’t stand that.

Both Poland & Hungary have tried subsidizing costs to raise the birthrates in their countries.  Worldwide, White women aged 31–40 seem to respond to these financial incentives the most.  It increases fertility in this age group, most especially for first and second births.

Imho, there are good advantages to Trump’s 5K upfront for diving into motherhood.  Baby furniture (changing table, crib, high chair, car seat, etc.) can be purchased immediately, or the money could be used to help fund a more reliable vehicle.

Now I’ve been doing a bit of research on America’s best White baby-makers:  the Amish.  They have 6-8 kids per family, doubling their population every 20 years.  https://groups.etown.edu/amishstudies/amish-population-profile-2024/

The Powers That Shouldn’t Be don’t really desire such self-sufficient folks, who I’ve seen generously assisting other rural White families in disaster situations lately:

    https://thecongressionalinsider.com/amish-community-provides-essential-help-in-north-carolina-after-government-aid-delays/

I won’t write a dissertation here, but just moving within closer proximity to these people  correlates w/ higher fertility in their non-Amish neighbors!

The gay mafia Has been trying to target their libraries w/ drag & LGBT propaganda & I’ve read some recent accounts of where the PA Dutch have forcefully rejected such attempts.  And last, no Amish took the clot shot!

I would say that the low birth rate of whites is largely due to employment in a corporate environment. That’s something that’s hardly talked about, especially not on the right. The corporate atmosphere has spread to all levels of employment (public institutions on the one hand, and many blue collar occupations on the other). It is characterised by a long suffocating experience of insecurity mixed with ambition. It combines factors that take away much of the young people’s self-confidence and will to start a family. It is not just about life being more expensive, but the corporate type of career and employment sucks life out of average people who used to have most of the children. Only the very aggressive/successful and those at the bottom can thrive demographically. I think for most white young people, this implied feeling of subordination is the real reason not have children … Almost no one will admit it, lest they look like “losers”.

Close them up like Michael Keaton’s Batmobile-“Shields!”, and sunny hostin is a tribrid of three of the worsts. William Robinson’s Woman, Her Sex and Love Life by Omnia-Veritas was actually pretty good, written by a doctor in 1922. I got it not knowing it was a sex hygiene handbook for women. Its contents were surprisingly good, informative for our women and might benefit them as much as a measly five grand.

When I was born in 1943 the population was only 2,6 BILLION.   Now it pushing 8.5 — in just 80 years.  This cannot continue — if we wish to have a livable planet.

ONE WOMAN — ONE CHILD!  And this law for every country.

I’ll be leaving this planet soon, but you all better get your ducks in a row.
