Question: when is Trevor Lynch gonna chat with the great forensic pathologist of cinema Wyatt Stagg?
Never heard of him.
Really? Oh man, you’re in for a treat. Delighted to bring him to your attention. Keith W got a lot of people aware of him and I think Woes almost had him on last Xmas.
His newest 28 Days Later vid has done very well apparently due to the algo ironically misinterpreting the ‘White Rage’ in its title.
He’s got channels on Odysee, Youtube and Rumble under that name and on x as wsdagg. Also there are some extra gems (his Matrix and Gran Torino essays) that can be found by searching him on Bitchute.
Though to my ears he might talk like his dental anesthetic hasn’t fully worn off, his takedowns are meticulous and devastatingly on-point.
Thanks
His videos are interesting, but why does he speak in such a retarded manner? It’s unnerving!
Did you guys read Priss Factor’s tour de force on film since 1950 at Unz review? You guys need to master that list. It’s the best thing ever. He is far superior to all your mainstream academic critics. His appreciation of Spielberg is fascinating.
No. Never saw a thing by “Priss Factor” that impressed or interested me.
The article is by Juergen Freud, but I think he is the same as the commenter, but that’s only a speculation. Who do you like in film criticism?
It’s Freud-Jung, not “Jürgen Freud”. He used to go by the name Andrea Ostrov Letania 15 years back or so. His knowledge of cinema is encyclopedic and his takes often very interesting, but he suffers from heavy self-indulgent logorrhea, making much of his stuff tiresome and unreadable. The list at Unz was really intriguing. (I do prefer the madman genius Ty E from Soiled Sinema though).
Aside from a brick-stupid fellow with a very African name, Priss Factor was my least favorite commentator on my articles at Unz. I had the sense that he/she/whatever made it a point of contradicting everything I said, often based on strained and perverse misreadings, and always at great length.
I don’t know if Priss Factor and Freud-Jung (aka Andrea Ostrov Letania) are the same, but I know the latter can be very annoying and contrarian.
I think Priss is a genius, similar in perceptual powers to myself, perhaps greater in some respects. He is similar to the Freud Jung, and I think they are the same, but he did not seem to make the transition from rambunctious comments to long form articles as well. I think Priss is very correct and enlightening in his readings, but what do I know? Freud Jung seems to rank some movies higher than I would, and others lower, but I guess we might all do that, as tastes differ. For example, he said Amadeus would be better if Salieri were a musician similar in abilities to Mozart, but that misses the point, doesn’t it? Salieri’s tragedy was that he was unable to produce anything memorable. He wouldn’t have been so angry at the lord if he had been able to produce one Requiem or Planets, right? The subtext of Amadeus is that we are Salieri and the Jews are Mozart. He also fails to note that! Note his unattractiveness, for instance. Was the historical Mozart uncomely? Not by his pictures.
Maybe some excellent authors are caught up in professional jealousy with Priss.😉
I agree, the Soiled Sinema guy is also extremely perceptive, although he can be excessively long winded, there are some real gold nuggets buried in his stuff, but you may dig through a lot of silt to get to them. He seems to limit himself to movies that are darker and somewhat twisted. You’re not going to catch him talking about Sound of Music.
Not sure what others were seeing. I just saw a giant list of the guy’s favorite movies like you’d find on an IMDB account, just happened to be posted on Unz.
