Handsome young feller!
That was a great solo flight. Possibly the best I’ve ever heard!
I too try to put blinders on and just enjoy pop culture and try to let the woke go in one ear out the other, but lately it’s getting impossibly obstreperous. I watched the Creator, a movie about AI, sort of a post modern pastiche of blade runner and terminator. The lead character is a Black. OK I can tolerate this. However, All the whites around him are depicted ostensibly as cruel to animals, cruel to Asians, and AI life forms. All the bright ideas come from the black guy while the whites stand around like dolts. He finds the secret passages, comes up with how things work, etc. etc.. it was truly sickening. I get it, whites are evil and blacks have big hearts and are brilliant.
I’m starting to notice that the woke is rounding a corner from simply the myth of racial equality, which has its problems, but at least sort of works from a principle, to an active antiWhite hatred, depicting whites as evil. Like I mean an objective depiction of whites as inherently bad. For example, I don’t think it’s in theaters yet, but I know enough of the premise—there’s this comedic new movie where there’s a secret team of blacks who try to keep White from getting angry and attacking blacks. Which, in reality is the exact opposite of the truth, but the premise would seem to depict whites as inherently and genetically a danger to Black people. Previously the premise was that all groups were really the same, and only circumstances sort of made them different, or some whites were ideological haters. But this notion seems to be advancing from colorblindness, or the idea that groups are equal to the premise that there’s really something inherently bad about Whites.
To bloviate further: the above movie is Society of Magical Negroes. Now the pre Floyd hbo series Watchmen presented an concept like that, a crack unit of authoritarian agents who use coercion and torture to fight whites supremacists, but in that case it was clearly an ideology that was being fought. Some of the officers were white, some were black. Now, and I assume it has something to do with the Floyd era, whites per se are being depicted as the problem, not their ideology. But both depict the same concept, that whites may require some sort of totalitarian measures to suppress. I think it’s concerning, although things may take a rightward shift post Gaza.
