Fundraiser Update: Help Us to Preserve Our Movement’s Past

[1]1,046 words

Like all journals of dissident ideas, Counter-Currents depends on the support of our readers. Going into the home stretch, we’ve now raised $153,807, or 51.3% of our $300,000 goal. I want to thank everyone who has donated so far. (Please donate here [2]!) And now, our archivist will offer another reason why Counter-Currents is worth supporting — especially if you care about the legacy of our movement’s past. Also see below for information on how your gifts between now and Christmas can get you some fantastic merch!

Counter-Currents offers original writing from many authors on a wide variety of topics relevant to the dissident Right every weekday. But we also act as the guardians of our movement’s luminaries from the past. As we learned while working on our collected edition of Francis Parker Yockey’s shorter writings, The World in Flames [3], if no one assumes responsibility for preserving these works, they often vanish. Many of Yockey’s writings only survive because the FBI and various antifa groups preserved them in their files. Most of those that weren’t are likely lost forever. This isn’t the way things should be. A vibrant, living movement looks after its own legacy rather than entrusting this duty to its enemies.

With this in mind, Counter-Currents maintains and curates online archives for three timeless thinkers of the Right: Jonathan Bowden, Savitri Devi, and Anthony Ludovici. These archives are intended both to preserve their works for newcomers and admirers as well as to serve as a resource for scholars. All three of them already contain a great deal of material by each of these thinkers, and are updated when new items come to light.

Within the past year, The Savitri Devi Archive [4] was updated to include all ten hours of the interviews with Savitri that were recorded by Ernst Zündel in India in the 1978, the seven hours of interviews with her that were recorded by Marc Nicoud in France in 1982, as well as previously unpublished correspondence of hers with other prominent figures of our movement such as Gaston-Armand Amaudruz. We also uploaded the lengthy, previously unpublished biographical “curriculum vitae” by Savitri’slong-time friend Muriel Gantry that the latter wrote for the well-known Savitri biographer Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke (but which he ignored).

The Jonathan Bowden Archive [5] currently hosts transcripts of all of Jonathan’s extant lectures, as well as audio and video (where available) recordings of them. We have also uploaded complete copies of all of Bowden’s narrative and documentary films (apart from one that cannot be located), including a new version of his documentary on the history of British sculpture with greatly improved images of the works he discusses as well as sound quality. This archive now also hosts copies of most of Bowden’s novels, as well as the issues of the journal he edited and wrote for in the early 1990s, The Revolutionary Conservative.

The Anthony Ludovici archive [6] hosts complete copies of all of his major books and essays, as well as unpublished correspondence, his translations, and studies by other scholars of Ludovici’s work. The site was originally founded by the Ludovici scholar John W. Day but is now maintained by Counter-Currents.

Besides the above, Counter-Currents also maintains the Black Invention Myths [7] website, which is an exhaustive catalogue of the false claims that are frequently made that attribute all manner of inventions to blacks. If you come across a libtard whose claims about black ingenuity needs refuting, this site is your arsenal.

The above are just a few examples drawn from the literally hundreds of items you will find in these archives’ pages that are unavailable anywhere else, not only online but in many cases even in published form. But these archives depend on web hosting to remain online, manpower to maintain and update them, and occasional research to track down and obtain materials that were previously unknown or thought lost. Thus, another reason to support Counter-Currents with your hard-earned money is in order to allow these archives to be kept online and growing. With enough funding, we could even consider investing some of it in research expeditions to secure yet more materials before they are gone forever. It is believed that there may be “lost” Savitri texts in archives in India and Russia, for example.

So when you’re considering whether or not to donate to Counter-Currents, bear in mind that part of our efforts involve preserving the legacies of our predecessors. Their spirits, as well as those of countless generations of our descendants in the future who will look to them for knowledge and inspiration, are counting on your support in order to bring them together. Please help us to fulfill our responsibilities to both the past and the future.
