Coudenhove-Kalergi’s Destructive Legacy

Beau Albrecht

Richard von Coudenhove-Kalergi

3,375 words

Long ago, one of my friends in college was trying to convince me of the benefits of universal race-mixing. Back then, normal people were well aware that was deviant and that they should stick with their own kind. The problem was that in just a few months, the campus ideological undertow had pulled him far to the Left. Meanwhile, the propaganda deluge only had strengthened my resistance. “It will destroy nations,” he explained, his expression making it clear that he was convinced this was a desirable outcome.

“Beginning with our own,” I replied with a slight edge.

There are those whose minds are made up for them by other people. They might even consider themselves as independent thinkers, but they have no idea where their ideas came from! This case –the notion that the destruction of races and nations is a good thing — is no exception.

When a bad idea becomes popular, often it’s possible to trace it back in order to discover who promoted it and why. Through this process of cultural forensics, the pioneering efforts by one man may be observed in promoting two such bad ideas. Count Richard Nikolaus Eijiro von Coudenhove-Kalergi was an advocate for both globalism and universal race-mixing. An influential coterie surrounding him approved of it, as it suited their own agendas, and they assisted with the groundwork.

How the Great Replacement began

Mainstream media propaganda

In Deplorable Diatribes, I described a basic biological principle which is in operation presently:

How does a unique breed become extinct? A widespread catastrophe could do that, such as a meteor striking the Earth, a gamma ray burst, sudden climate change, or the like. More commonly, trouble occurs if an invasive species or competing subspecies moves into its territory. This will cause:

    • Loss of habitat and unprecedented competition for resources,
    • Possible predation, if the invaders are more aggressive, and
    • If they’re genetically similar enough to interbreed, a faster-growing population eventually will swamp the native one, which some ecologists call genetic pollution.

If these things sound like the following to you:

    • Population replacement immigration,
    • Street crime, and
    • The things you might see promoted in movies, advertisements, and music videos

. . . then you might be onto something. It’s no accident that the usual batch of globalists and leftist sickos are pushing for exactly this. We should’ve put a stop to it long ago, but better late than never.

The first agenda item was a change in immigration policy, occurring in the United States in 1965. In several Western European countries this began as a trickle during post-war times, but the floodgates were also opened during the 1960s.

The second item largely occurs through anarcho-tyranny. Rotherham — need I say more? For that matter, no responsible government would endanger the nation’s founding public by forcibly integrating incompatible populations, or letting in hostile populations by the millions.

As for the third item, race-mixing was all but unthinkable in earlier times. It’s being massively propagandized of late, especially through advertising. Normally advertising is commercial propaganda, and piggybacking on this (or any other highly controversial sociopolitical propaganda) would certainly not be in a corporation’s best interests. In the case of the race-mixing fad, this is a malicious effort by advertising monopolies acting deliberately, motivated by an ethnic grudge. This type of demoralization propaganda is even promoted in pornography, and by the same people.

The above agenda items are obviously destructive and deliberately targeted. This didn’t happen all by itself. Those who say that this is inevitable are either confused or disingenuous. This began through deliberate decisions made by those with power and influence. (Likewise, the process can be ended if they reverse course or are deposed.) These are the features of modern globalism, and some of these –particularly the first and third agenda items — owe much to the intellectual legacy and tireless groundwork of Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi.

The making of a globalist

The Coudenhove-Kalergi family’s roots go back to a line of counts in the Holy Roman Empire and to the ancient Phokas clan of the Byzantine Empire. They had a tradition of carefully selecting mates eugenically. That changed with Heinrich von Coudenhove-Kalergi. While a diplomat in Japan on behalf of Austria-Hungary, he married one of the locals, Mitsuko Aoyama. (There’s a cute meet story about how his horse slipped on the road, he fell, and she came to his aid. It’s possible that history might’ve gone at least somewhat differently if not for a random ice patch in Tokyo.) Her parents, themselves from a wealthy and influential family, disowned her for marrying a gaijin. With two young children, ultimately the first of seven, the couple returned to the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

One of these children was Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi, born in 1894. He didn’t see Japan again until old age. Rather, he grew up in Ronsperg, a small town now renamed Poběžovice and located just inside the Czech Republic, adjacent to Bavaria. Although the family often received guests from afar, living in the hills of the Pilsen district as a “Hapa” (to use the current Hawaiian-derived term) may well have been a difficult experience, since nobody outside of his family shared his background. Then, in 1906, his father died, leaving him as a young trustafarian. Upon coming of age, having enough money that he never needed to work a real job, he became a professional activist.

His first major effort was to found the Pan-European Union in 1922 along with Archduke Otto von Habsburg, who also was a tricky character and a limousine Leftist. Another thing they had in common was that both were representatives of blueblood lineages that turned degenerate; unfortunately, they were hardly the last. The Archduke would’ve been the heir to the Austro-Hungarian crown, if the Empire hadn’t ceased to exist. Perhaps this Eurocrat racket was his way not only to recover the lost opportunity that slipped through his fingers, but to set his sights higher. Apparently, the Fall of the House of Habsburg didn’t end with King Carlos II.

The young Count Coudenhove-Kalergi, despite his confused origins, turned out to be quite the European patriot after all. (That much is as believable as if Barack Obama started claiming the other half of his heritage, and giving advice to white Americans on how to further the Fourteen Words.) The initial design of the Pan-European flag was suspiciously similar to the Japanese flag. How did the party get started? As the recovering journalist Whittaker Chambers wrote excitedly:

One day in 1923, while Eastern Europe writhed with wars and revolution threatened Germany where the bottom had dropped out of the mark and the French had entered the Rhineland, several thousand European statesmen, educators, editors, industrialists, bankers, and leaders of opinion received an unlooked-for gift. It was a free copy of a book called Pan-Europe. With every copy came a membership postcard with a pledge: “I join the Pan-European Union.”

The Count was quite a devoted globaloney huckster, and in time, he authored 36 other books as well. (Was this guy like the Stephen King of the New World Order, or what?) These books did become fairly well-known among the banksters and early Eurocrats he brought into his orbit. This effort to win the hearts and minds of the wealthiest and most powerful did get lots of attention. Centralizing authority into a continent-wide superstructure would give the lucky few even more wealth and power — how convenient!

He became besties with Louis Nathaniel de Rothschild,[1] a fellow Austrian who lined him up with the bankster Max Warburg. Maximum Warbucks in turn gave him the seed money for his Pan-European Union outfit, enough for its operating budget for its first three years. He also provided some important American connections, such as the tricky proto-Deep State character Bernard Baruch and Max’s brother, Paul Moritz Warburg. The latter is best-known as the father of the Federal Reserve and a founding director of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). As a side note, his son James Warburg was a real piece of work — another CFR member, one of FDR’s cronies, and a Morgenthau Plan supporter — who in 1950 had the audacity to tell the Senate:

We shall have world government, whether or not we like it. The question is only whether world government will be achieved by consent or by conquest.

Other than politically-connected banksters and high finance types, the trustafarian jetsetter rubbed elbows with a dizzying array of world leaders and notables. These even included Julius Evola and Benito Mussolini, but they weren’t so easily persuaded. (It seems as if only Hitler wouldn’t give him the time of day.) This much alone was staggering. It’s difficult enough for ordinary people to get an audience even with their own mayor, so long as the city has more than a few traffic lights. On the other hand, Coudenhove-Kalergi had great success waltzing in to bend the ears of foreign heads of state and other major dignitaries. Time and again, he received access to them that would’ve been nearly unobtainable for their own common citizenry. What’s up with that? It’s not like being the Count of Ronsperg meant he was the Second Coming of Jesus Christ on a pogo stick.

The globaloney merchant became the first recipient of the Charlemagne Prize in 1950. Naming it after the founder of the Holy Roman Empire seems like a joke in remarkably bad taste. (The Xerxes, Hannibal, or Genghis Khan Prize would’ve been a more suitable name.) Although some decent people have been awarded it, most recipients have been politicos such as Tony Blair, Bill Clinton, Angela Merkel, Emmanuel Macron, some tricky globalist apparatchiks, a few more degenerated bluebloods, and a number of trained lapdogs.

Coudenhove-Kalergi’s vision for a globalist future

You can buy Greg Johnson’s Confessions of a Reluctant Hater here

The original idea was for continental Europe to become a single superstate, including its African holdings. (Decolonization wasn’t part of The Agenda at that point.) Also, his scheme called for the rest of the world to be divvied up into four other superstates. There would be the USSR, the British Empire, a united North and South America (just as Comrade Leon “General Buttnaked” Trotsky wanted), and a united Japan and China would dominate the rest of Asia. I have to wonder at the hubris of these New World Order types who amuse themselves by taking a box of crayons to a map and imaginatively rearranging the planet according to their wishes, without the slightest thought of consulting the people living there. In any event, he considered one-world government to be ideal, but impractical at the time. Perhaps he considered the five superstate scheme as an intermediate phase toward the future that he really wanted imposed on Earth.

Some of his particularly infamous bons mots appear in his first book, Adel (Nobility) from 1922, the same year as his Pan-European Union was created. These also are found in Praktischer Idealismus, one of his better-known works, since he recycled Adel to pad roughly the first third of its text. The following are some of my original translations of selections from his flowery nonsense in German. The first is evidence that Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi was very much a Dick:

Der Mensch der fernen Zukunft wird Mischling sein. Die heutigen Rassen und Kasten werden der zunehmen-den Überwindung von Raum, Zeit und Vorurteil zum Opfer fallen. Die eurasisch-negroide Zukunftsrasse, äußerlich der altägyptischen ähnlich, wird die Vielfalt der Völker durch eine Vielfalt der Persönlichkeiten ersetzen.

The man of the far future will be mixed race. Today’s races and castes will fall victim to the increasing overcoming of space, time, and prejudice. The Eurasian-Negroid future race, outwardly similar to the ancient Egyptians, will replace the diversity of peoples with a diversity of individuals.

The tone of that which follows is approving: Although races will disappear, their nobility will live on. (How this is supposed to occur among the deracinated masses bereft of cultural identity is a mystery.) That’s more than simply the suggestion that it’s inevitable, given enough time and migration, as if the destiny of peoples operated essentially like gaseous diffusion. On that note, Europe was nearly entirely white at the time. Therefore, the only way to produce the intended result was to implement open borders to the Third World. Deliberate population replacement was implied, and this is exactly what has been happening. In practice, this has always been done without consulting the public, with generous taxpayer-supported welfare benefits to attract the idle outsiders and with selectively lenient law enforcement, because holding the oppressed darlings to civilized standards would be “racism.”

Finally, I’ll nitpick a bit: The ancient Egyptians didn’t look the way Count Dick believed they did. Ancient Egypt’s founding population’s appearance fell approximately somewhere between Arabs and Mediterraneans. Facial reconstructions of specimens that have survived tend to look slightly more exotic than Elizabeth Taylor, but less exotic than Rosario Dawson or Sanaa Lathan — and definitely not like Tiger Woods.

One thing that the great European patriot Coudenhove-Kalergi didn’t tell us that if his Pan-Europe is not to be the home of Europe’s native peoples, since they’re intended to disappear into a globalist melting pot and never to be seen again, then what is the point of Europe as a political entity in the first place? Then there’s the question of motives. I try not to psychologize too much, but in Coudenhove-Kalergi’s case, it’s pretty clear that his feeling of alienation motivated him to want to remake the world in his own image. On the other hand, the people who were backing him liked what they heard and had some other motives of their own.

Zio-bootlicking

The following is the kind of thing that can get someone banned on social media. The major difference here is that Coudenhove-Kalergi was speaking approvingly of this phenomenon rather than denouncing it:

Der Kampf zwischen Kapitalismus und Kommunismus um das Erbe des besiegten Blutadels ist ein Bruderkrieg des siegreichen Hirnadels, ein Kampf zwischen individualistischem und sozialistischem, egoistischem und altruistischem, heidnischem und christlichem Geist. Der Generalstab beider Parteien rekrutiert sich aus der geistigen Führerrasse Europas: dem Judentum.

The struggle between capitalism and Communism about their inheritance of the defeated hereditary nobility is a brother’s war of the victorious intellectual nobility, a struggle between individualistic and socialistic, egoistic and altruistic, heathen and Christian spirit. The general staff of both parties recruits itself from Europe’s spiritual leader-race: Jews.

As for the conclusion, by what authority was Count Dick making this declaration? Who died and made him the Pope? Let’s put it another way. I would be happy to declare Mormons to be the spiritual leaders of North America, but then it would be quite fair for anyone else to ask where I’m scoring such potent weed.

More bootlicking follows. In one instance, Count Dick even declares that Comrade Trotsky is at the pinnacle of modern politics (. . .mit Trotzki an der Spitze moderner Politik.) Sweet! Both were of the same opinion about the benefits of universal race-mixing, too.

Still, what’s up with all of his embarrassing Führerrasse stuff? His first and third wives were Jewish; maybe they made an impression. Then there’s this:

It’s not that Jews are the new nobility; rather, Jews are the womb from which emerges a new, spiritual nobility of Europe; the kernel from which a new spiritual nobility gathers. A spiritual-urban master race[2] is being educated: idealistic, spirited, and sensitive; brave as the feudal nobility in their best days; joyfully taking death and persecution, hate and contempt; in order to make humanity more ethical, spiritual, and happy.

That kind of lickspittle praise was awfully worshipful. However, I’ll be more impressed if they start showing us what they can be at their best. Scripture calls them to be a light unto the nations. This is what they could be doing, instead of the destructive misdeeds that gave them such bad publicity that it inspired the “every single time” meme. Talk is cheap, so how about rising to the challenge?

Als Volk erlebt das Judentum den ewigen Kampf der Quantität gegen die Qualität, minderwertiger Gruppen gegen höherrvertige Individuen, minderwertiger Majoritäten gegen höherwertige Minoritäten.

As a people, Jews experience the eternal struggle of quantity against quality; inferior groups against superior individuals; inferior majorities against superior minorities.

With that one, Coudenhove-Kalergi wasn’t merely declaring the rest of us to be inferior to the objects of his hero-worship; he was implicitly abasing himself, too. Now that was laying it on mighty thick.

The results

The guy on the bottom has the right idea

All this bootlicking did spark considerable attention. Getting in on the ground floor set the character of the Pan-European movement to be something other than in the interest of Europeans. Even as early as 1926, the Jewish Telegraph Agency reported:

Several Jewish European leaders took a prominent part in the first Pan-European Congress which opened here Sunday, when the movement to establish a United States of Europe, modelled after the United States of America, took definite shape.

The keynote of the Congress was sounded by Paul Loebe, president of the German Reichstag, and Francis de Laisi, a Frenchman, Count Richard Coudenhove Kalergi, an Austro-Japanese, who launched the movement in 1923, Rudolph Goldscheid and Bronislaw Huberman, who delivered the principal addresses. Many individual European Jews are furthering the Pan-European movement by giving it financial support.

Among the messages received from various countries were those from Luigi Luzzatti, Leon Blum, Georg Brandes, Georg Bernhard, Harry Warburg and Max Rheinhardt.

Count Coudenhove Kalergi, who is married to Ida Roland, a Jewess, when interviewed by the representative of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency here expressed his opinion that the Pan-European movement ought to find particular support on the part of the Jews who are scattered throughout the various countries in Europe. The creation of the United States of Europe would be beneficial to the Jews as it would eliminate racial hatred and economic rivalry, he said.

That was their own public relations hype, of course. However, that kind of manipulative stuff tends to cause severe blowback. This is especially so now that the European Union has become more than just the pipe dream of a maladjusted trustafarian gathering a widening circle of banksters, globalists, and sycophantic politicians. Since it’s been in operation, it quickly became an unaccountable bureaucratic leviathan hell-bent on dispossessing its native peoples through open-borders policies.

That sort of thing also unfortunately besmirches the reputations of Jews who don’t have anything to do with it, and who don’t support the harmful agendas of the top Zionists promoting it. (I get it; our own so-called “elites” are remarkably nasty, too.)

I hate to end this on a critical note, so I’ll say that things can be different. Wouldn’t it be great if we could all get along? There’s a remarkably easy way for Zionists to prevent blowback resulting from manipulative tactics and destructive social engineering schemes: Stop doing it.

Notes

[1] Louis Nathaniel de Rothschild was very much related to himself. According to the tangled genealogy, six of his great-great-grandfathers were named Rothschild. Three of them were the same person, the famous patriarch Mayer Amschel Rothschild of Frankfurt, and likewise three great-great-grandmothers were his wife, née Gutlé Schnapper. Among ten children emerging from the fertile Schnapper, two of their sons — Salomon Mayer and Nathan Mayer — were both the great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather of Louis Nathaniel. Two great-great-grandparents who weren’t Rothschilds had a daughter, Caroline Stern, who married Salomon Mayer. She was to become one of Louis Nathaniel’s great-great-grandmothers, in addition to being a great-grandmother of his. Finally, Louis Nathaniel’s sixth great-great-grandfather with the same last name was Carl (Kalman) Mayer Rothschild, also a son of Mayer Amschel and Gutlé. So what was Bette Midler saying about West Virginia again?

[2] Herrenvolk, when used by those evil Nazis, is generally translated as “master race,” so I’ll follow the convention here as well. However, “lordly people” is a better fit in my opinion. Coudenhove-Kalergi’s usage of it to describe his Eskimo buddies would become quite ironic later.
