Carmen over Wagner, Michael Jackson over New Order!
I didn’t realize GJ was such an expert on Wagner. I think it would be useful to have an even handed analysis of Wagner’s anti Semitism. Why is he considered such a terrible anti Semite, to the point of being illegalized in Israel? What are the motivations of his anti Semitism? Was he jealous of Jewish musical prowess or perhaps he rankled at having his art deformed by the IT or various things they wanted him to put in. Is the IT in wagners operas?
