David Lynch’s third feature film is his 1984 adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction classic Dune. Herbert’s Dune is widely hailed as a masterpiece, while Lynch’s Dune has a much more mixed reputation, tending toward the negative. When I first saw Lynch’s Dune, I was deeply disappointed. Herbert’s novel had left a powerful and vivid impression on me, and Lynch’s vision was not my vision. (more…)

The French soldier, historian, and European patriot Dominique Venner was born on this day in 1935. He famously ended his life with a bullet on the altar of the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris on May 21, 2013 to protest the demographic replacement of Europeans. Through both his life’s work and his death, Venner wished to draw attention to the demographic decline of European man and to indicate what we must be prepared to give to save our people: everything. But his death will be in vain unless it is remembered. So take this day to remember Dominique Venner: his life, his work, and his sacrifice.

A little more than two years ago I published a piece on this site titled “I Keep Forgetting that I’m Not an American.” The occasion was Wikileaks’ release of “Vault 7” and the reaction from establishment Republicans. Vault 7 consisted of thousands of documents revealing the CIA’s ability to compromise smartphones and smart TVs, as well as Web browsers and even cars.
