The Advantage of the Other

In 1683 the troops of the Ottoman Empire marched to the gates of Vienna, in the very heart of Europe. Their intention was clear: sack the city, rape and kill the inhabitants, and use it as a staging base for their expansion into the rest of Christendom. Although the Poles under John III Sobieski saved the day, and as per Walter Leitsch, “From 1683 the Ottoman Turks ceased to be a menace to the Christian world,” things would have turned out very differently had Europe not been unified thirty-five years earlier with the Peace of Westphalia.

The Thirty Years War of 1618-1648, fought between a gaggle of belligerents, everyone from Sweden and Saxony to Bohemia and Poland, was the Second World War of its time. Eight million people died, whether from combat, famine, disease, or outright atrocities, including outbreaks of witch-hunting. Borders were ruptured, cities razed. The psychological toll in terms of bereavement and mental dislocation must have been intense and it took a generation for Europe to recover.

The Treaty of Westphalia, signed in 1648 in Osnabrück and Münster between the warring Habsburg and anti-Habsburg states and their respective allies, was based on the sorely-needed principle of the “advantage of the other,” akin to the modern Chinese “win-win” machinations now coming to fruition in the multi-trillion-dollar Belt and Road Initiative between China, Pakistan, and other Asian nation-states.

Article I is worth reading in its entirety:

That there shall be a Christian and Universal Peace, and a perpetual, true, and sincere Amity, between his Sacred Imperial Majesty, and his most Christian Majesty; as also, between all and each of the Allies, and Adherents of his said Imperial Majesty, the House of Austria, and its Heirs, and Successors; but chiefly between the Electors, Princes, and States of the Empire on the one side; and all and each of the Allies of his said Christian Majesty, and all their Heirs and Successors, chiefly between the most Serene Queen and Kingdom of Swedeland, the Electors respectively, the Princes and States of the Empire, on the other part. That this Peace and Amity be observ’d and cultivated with such a Sincerity and Zeal, that each Party shall endeavour to procure the Benefit, Honour and Advantage of the other; that thus on all sides they may see this Peace and Friendship in the Roman Empire, and the Kingdom of France flourish, by entertaining a good and faithful Neighbourhood.

Without this peace, allowing the nation-states of Europe to replenish themselves physically, psychologically, and demographically, the Thirty Years War could easily have raged on to become a Forty Years War, or a Fifty Years War, with all the worst effects on European integrity. And the Ottoman Empire would have come, licking its chops before a meal of disorganized, hate-filled, starving Europeans. Vienna would have fallen, and Islam would today be coursing through the veins of Europe.

Thus, principled paradigm shifts lead to unforeseeable future benefits!

Casting a New Spell

Not just courage, but encouragement is what Western man requires, which means that the unclean spirit which has descended into his soul must be cleansed. He has lost his nerve, his mind, and could easily lose his most precious heart and all that it holds dear as well, should times of strife come. Some people are hopeless cases. Ideologically, like some brands of fundamentalist Christians or Muslims, they are like a frightened recluse in an Upper West Side apartment’s panic room who has locked himself inside and flushed the key down the toilet. But most people are not like that. They sense subconsciously the injustice being perpetrated on the European ethnoi, just as they subconsciously fear addressing it. Most people are willing to negotiate. Here’s how it might be done.

The Fourteen Words Deep-Sixed

The Fourteen Words went to the bottom of the world ocean along with the Western canon many years ago. A few stalwart frogmen keep watch over it. But, these words have become encrusted with barnacles and coral, with sediment and sea-worms and stinging anemones with their clownfish symbionts, to the point of near invisibility.

There is the assumption among patriots that we need these encrustations: the Nazi swastika, Hitler, Holocaust denial, anti-Semitism, imperialism, race-hatred, a culture of brutality. In other words, being the stereotype. But the Fourteen Words cannot afford these things. These things are fear for the pod people. And, given what happened in the Second World War, they are right to fear them. Clinging to these wicked relics, displaying them devoutly, is, to say the least, counterproductive.

Bringing these Fourteen Words up above the waves, clean and shining like gold from a sunken ship, we see that they are beautifully reasonable: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.”

We can all see, have all seen, that these words ring perfectly true and good when adapted to other peoples. They are not true for us because of fear. It is the encrustations that are deeply contributing to preventing us from allaying this fear in the pod people, and if we cannot overcome our own fearfulness of jettisoning these encrustrations, it will be that fear itself that will fuel our demise.

We don’t need to cast away all our symbols, history, art and architecture, or dreams of a clean, ordered, beautiful, ambitious, and compassionate society. There are plenty of symbols to be had which are benign. Just don’t focus on Nazi Germany. Clinging to swastikas and heiling Hitler is the worst non-violent magical act of which one can conceive in regard to the cause of white survival. Mere information won’t do when the rational faculties have already made their decision cemented by irresistible negotiation.

I recognize the power of the gammadion, of the iconography, struggle, and the sweeping vision of National Socialism. But it is not synonymous with the Fourteen Words. It is an empire that came to an extremely bad end long ago and which spawned a monster which haunts us in our very homelands, in our very homes. If we cling to Nazism, whether as process or product, we will only stoke tremendous fear, and will therefore, ironically, bring about our own destruction as a people, while shaking our little fists at how unfair life is.

The evolutionary curiosity known as the glass lizard sheds its tail when threatened, leaving the thrashing tail for the predator as the lizard escapes with its life. The Alt Right must be like this, because we will otherwise never stop being caught in the teeth of the predator, which is the conscience of common decency. By shedding this cumbersome tail, we will win a huge battle for our reputation, confounding our enemies because “everybody knows” it can’t happen, and revealing a heart of gold. By keeping our tail, we will essentially be pitting ourselves against the spirit of the West.

The principle is, if one wants the job, look the part.

The Exorcism of the Pod People

Many people have never been exposed to significant (i.e., dominating) doses of Classical beauty, or have seen it only out of the corner of their distracted eye, corrupted and chopped up into a salad of counterculture and memery. Exposing them to Classical beauty under the auspices of the Alt Right,] will confuse their understanding of what an Alt Right person “should” do, and thus bring into doubt what the Alt Right actually is, as opposed to what the pod person has been told it is.

There are, again, three aspects to this: economic beauty, scientific beauty, and Classical artistic beauty.

Economic Beauty

Economically, the alternative to Marxism in the West is the adoption of Alexander Hamilton’s “American system” of political economy. Whatever popular bowdlerization there has been, the real Hamilton, in the context of the US foundational documents such as the Bill of Rights, was an advocate both of protectionism and of government credit for the development of the economy. In this development of economics and political thinking that originated with the inventor of calculus, Gottfried W. Leibniz, and extends through to Hamilton’s almost exact contemporary, the German “poet of freedom” Friedrich Schiller, Hamilton represents the concrete working out of the following, written by Schiller: “The most beautiful of all works of art is the construction of true political freedom”

Compare this with the same concept in the French Situationist Guy Debord’s Society of the Spectacle:

Emancipation from the material bases of inverted truth – this is what the self-emancipation of our epoch consists of. This “historical mission of installing truth in the world” cannot be accomplished either by the isolated individual, or by the atomized crowd subjected to manipulation, but now as ever by the class [or self-conscious majority] which is able to effect the dissolution of all classes [disunification] by bringing all power into the dealienating form of realized democracy, the Council [or Republic], in which practical theory [truthfulness] controls itself and sees its own action. This is possible only where individuals are “directly linked to universal history”; only where dialogue arms itself to make its own conditions victorious.

In both cases we are dealing with the same thing: the human “divine spark” of creative capacity, struggling against the forces of dishonesty in the service of the oligarchy, or an oligarchal collection of overlapping blobs akin to the hanging bacterial cities sometimes found in city sewer systems, through which oligarchy seeks to subjugate man by denying him his humanity and instead keeping him as a form of livestock – the most valuable kind, in fact, which is attested to by the fact that the reader is kept alive at all.

The answer is to promote the opposite of the system of monetarism emanating out of the financial axis of London-Wall Street, the essentially casino-like gambling system of futures trading which, alongside the now-collapsed housing bubble and the yet-to-collapse American dollar bubble, has created an economic bubble on the order of a factor of magnitude larger than the entire dollar value of the world’s physical economy itself. This opposite is Hamiltonian economics as seen in the ongoing development of the Chinese New Silk Road, the planned (but still blocked by the British) Kra canal in Thailand, Lyndon LaRouche’s Middle Eastern “Oasis” plan, the continued need for massive fusion energy research, and in terms of geo-engineering the proposed Oubangui-Chari transfer, the proposed North American Water and Power Alliance (NAWAPA) [3], and the World Land Bridge, as described by Lyndon LaRouche and the Schiller Institute.

Most crucial is the reinstatement of Franklin Roosevelt’s 1933 Glass-Steagall Law, which separated investment banking from commercial banking, effectively putting a “firewall” between the futures gambling tendencies of high finance and the physical economy. Trump has expressed his support for Glass-Steagall, and he should be reminded of its importance.

For an example of how such a development can ease strife in the world, Portia Tarumbwa-Strid, the Vice President of the Schiller Institute in Germany, describes the Oubangui-Chari transfer as follows:

By transferring 100,000 million m2 of water from the tributaries of the Congo River basin, and bringing this freshwater to Lake Chad, water that would otherwise run off into the Atlantic Ocean, it would be possible to irrigate up to 17 million acres of land and provide food security for almost 100 million people.

The NAWAPA is more ambitious, according to LaRouche:

The 1964 Parsons Company study estimated that NAWAPA could assure adequate water supply to the continent for the next 100 years. The conserved water would be sufficient to irrigate 86,300 square miles, equal to a 35-mile-wide strip extending 500 miles into the Canadian agricultural belt, traversing the length of the United States, and extending 200 miles into Mexico for a total length of 2,500 miles. In delivering 20 million acre-feet of water to Mexico, the plan allows that country alone to develop eight times as much new irrigated land as the Aswan High Dam provides Egypt. In this original proposal, Canada would receive 22 million acre-feet of usable fresh water, and the United States 78 million acre-feet.

This is big stuff that we are missing out on. This is the future of man as a master of his environment, creating one which will nurture him akin to the beautiful development of the Tennessee Valley Authority in the 1930s and onward. In working towards win-win outcomes, geo-engineering in an age of water scarcity is absolutely vital if we are not to trigger an uncontrollable ripple effect of political and demographic chaos.

Scientific Beauty

Man is the beautiful species. His form is the primary archetype in a metaphysical sense, optimized to be able to conceive, build, and use tools which act as prosthetics, and which in a sense complete him. He alone is able to willfully increase his potential population density, or power over nature, or power to successfully survive, by transcending the Malthusian logical conditionality of the brute.

That is, man at his height is an illogical being. Logic is the beginning of wisdom, but it is not the end, and it is certainly not creative except in the sense of an animalistic trial-by-error (cunning) which leads to a fixed potential outcome.

To understand this, consider boiling a pot of water to produce steam. What do you observe? How about the fact that steam has nothing logically whatever to do with liquid water? Such an association is completely arbitrary. Boiling water could produce roses; it is just our repeated experience that makes the appearance of rising steam seem like a completely normal thing to occur when we heat a pot of water.

In order to “anticipate steam” – to discover a new universal physical principle – one must hop across a logical-deductive chasm seeking a new, hypothesized beauty of Creation. The hypothesized principle, and the methods of proof-of-principle experimentation the seeker uses to attempt to discover it, exists not in a logically-deductive framework of fixed possibilities, but in terms of natural law.

Natural law means something different to the atheist than to the Christian. Atheist “natural law” becomes merely “laws” as statements of inexplicably fixed universal necessity, like the Laws of Thermodynamics. Christian “natural law” is the arbitrary creation of a rational and good God, a God who has created the illogical universe to be (according to Leibniz) the “best of all possible worlds” given what he has to work with in terms of an often wretched humanity. Such natural law is written in the mind of man such that the laws of the universe and the laws of human mentation are one.

Because of this, human creativity involves the same basic quality as God’s. God creates principles, and man hypothesizes them in a form of play reminiscent of what should be known as the holy spirit of childhood, creative curiosity, thereby creating technologies and new, improved configurations for the Earth. In this way does man discover new truths about the universe, new beauties, for science is in the beauty business, revealing new worlds of wonder, whether through microscopy or astronomy, through technology, the music of the particles, or the hum of the dunes.

The more we understand the beauty, method, and fruits of science, the more we will be able to share our optimistic enthusiasm for it. The foundation is being able to understand what a universal physical principle is, such as the following exposition on the nature of the doubling of the square. Outside of all jest: the knowledge of the power to double the square [4] may rule the fate of the West.

Artistic Beauty

The greatest possible manifestation of the sort of paradox that the Alt Right should present comes from a committed participation in an irony, and here is where the African American ethnoi shall come to the aid of its European fellows, through the tradition of profound American song known as the negro spiritual.

One may find this shocking. Yet, think how wonderfully off-putting it would be, how confusing, how controversial, nay, how cognitively dissonant it would be to hear Alt Right activists engaged in an earnest, harmonious, polyphonic rendition of “Ol’ Man River”! What could their opponents possibly counter it with? Just the usual garbage – screams and drumming – the lowest common denominators.

The spirituals are not akin to popular music, whether ragtime, jazz, or rap. Rather they are on a higher plane entirely, akin to the admittedly more complex European Classical music of a Dvořák or Beethoven. The focus is on the idea inherent in the music as raising the singer and the audience up to the level of Christ. Not perfectly becoming Christ, naturally, but in higher emulation of Christ’s beauty of character, as the embodiment of the perfectly-used “divine spark.”

The Civil Rights marchers did not drum, they sang, and their singing inspired others and was successful in its goal. Do we have issues with what became of their noble goal? The conditions their goal led to? Perhaps, but that’s not germane. “We shall overcome” seems horrifyingly inappropriate for the Alt Right to sing, but the time has come in which it is our needed sentiment, because it is we who have now been given the privilege of shrinking into the rusty shackles of the culturelessness of the dispossessed.

The negro spiritual is, therefore, what we need to sing. Not ironically, not sniggering and botching the thing, not like giggling ghouls butchering and eating a musical corpse, but singing it for real, as the beautiful expressions of devotion, pain, and overcoming that they are. Consider the verses of “There is a Balm in Gilead [5]”:

There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin sick soul.

Sometimes I feel discouraged,
And think my work’s in vain,
But then the Holy Spirit
Revives my soul again.

[Refrain]

If you can’t preach like Peter,
If you can’t pray like Paul,
Just tell the love of Jesus,
And say He died for all.

[Refrain]

Are we not wounded? Are we not sin sick? Do we not often feel that our work is in vain? We are not unfeeling statues, we know these songs came from people’s pain, and they repeated these songs in the fields over and over, and they rose above, and now we ourselves feel the psychic pain of our culture, which has been eaten to bits like a motheaten sweater. We must rise above, and recognize these songs as inspired, being something that we should drink from and share.

It doesn’t matter if you’re an atheist. It’s music, sing them anyway. The beauty of these songs, “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot,” “Song of the South,” and by extension the quasi-African and somewhat overplayed “Amazing Grace” as sung by Paul Robeson, shines through anyhow. But don’t sing them from a place of doubt. Sing them faithfully, in the spirit of the thing.

If you do, what is happening is that you are participating in an American form of Classical music that operates in a sunny, normal realm of the spirit. I do not mean that slavery was moral, but rather that in these songs there is no trace of Dalí-esque hallucinatory weirdness, nor is there a drop of Gigeresque dark eros. These songs are closer in spirit to something out of the Middle Ages’ deeply entrenched social order and the rock-solid faith it produced than they are to the aspartamic popular music of today’s bright young pod people.

Consider also the sheer normality of works such as “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen,” also performed by Robeson, and the similar white Christian simplicity of “The Three Bells” by The Browns. Easy to understand, and easy to learn, yet not easy to master, while being beautiful and bringing the listener closer to the expanded world of the Classical music of Telemann, Vivaldi, Brahms, Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, and Handel, the negro spirituals and similar songs join the pantheon of what the German poet of freedom, Friedrich Schiller, would identify as world-culture.

We belong to this world. So do all our brethren who are under the spell of the femiblob, needing a light to show them the way. If we prepare a drill bit of black irony, we may find ourselves able to pierce that imprisoning cell’s Cultural Marxist membrane and drill through to the mitochondrion fear factory, disrupting it with the power of Classical beauty.

Progression Beyond Fear

In this essay, I described a process of alchemy for purifying the soul of the Alt Right in preparation for participating in the culture war more effectively. These tactical measures need to be applied consistently over a considerable period of time to prove to people that we are sincere – to prove we are giving God his due, so to speak. Flashes in the pan do not help; we require people whose souls are large.

That said, I’d like to make one last point: we must be the new progressives. Convincing the common man, the soon-to-be-ex-pod-person, that we are such people will help immeasurably in increasing good-natured respect and reducing fear. Like Prometheus stealing fire from the gods, nationalism has stolen the initiative from the Cultural Marxists. Now, the Alt Right needs to inherit the mantle of progressivism.

It’s progressive because it opposes the regressive Left, which works to turn back free speech, freedom of association, freedom from harassment and violence, freedom to be properly educated in Classical art and science, and the freedom to maintain one’s own traditional culture, including the material culture of race.

It’s progressive because it will uphold human rights even as it develops a humane political structure to preserve its people and develop its homelands.

It’s progressive because it will stand for Classical culture, not as museum pieces but as living principles in the breasts of its people.

It’s progressive because it will resurrect God from the cross of postmodern nihilism and thus reinstall in the sky the serious star of truth, beauty, and goodness, indivisible.

It’s progressive because it’s open-minded.

And, lastly, it’s progressive because it’s cooler.

Once we are in the progressive seat, we truly will be on our way, and the femiblob will be reduced to a tiny, wriggling thing in a test-tube, kept on display at the Smithsonian perhaps, as a reminder to all of us of the time we almost died.
