Greg Johnson and Patrick Le Brun discuss Patrick’s Counter-Currents article “Career Advice for Young White Men.” Topics include:

  1. How to tell if you are in a dead-end job.
  2. Jobs in which you make decisions vs. jobs in which you implement other people’s decisions
  3. White collar and pink collar jobs
  4. Common mistakes people are making in their jobs today
  5. The importance of continually networking
  6. The importance of searching for better jobs while you are still employed
  7. The importance of simply asking authorities to share their knowledge
  8. Everybody’s favorite subject: himself
  9. The importance of passion, commitment, and “fit” in determining success
  10. Greg Johnson’s “On Potential“
  11. The necessity of self-actualization
  12. The importance of emotional intelligence
  13. The abundance vs. scarcity mentality
  14. Patrick’s recommended self-help books: How To Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie and The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene
  15. Greg’s self-help recommendations: Balthasar Gracian’s The Art of Worldly Wisdom, and two TV shows Yes, Minister, and Yes, Prime Minister (The Complete Yes Minister)
  16. Lying to Human Resources people
  17. Why one should not mix work and politics
  18. The difference between the bourgeois and the heroic type
  19. Why heroes need to be smart and disciplined as well as brave and self-sacrificing
  20. Safe jobs for explicit White Nationalists (see below)
  21. The necessity of white tribalism
  22. Tribalism requires discrimination and discipline.
  23. Why it is possible to do well even in a bad society
  24. Why it is a moral duty for White Nationalists to do well

We ran into technical problems doing this podcast. For some reason, portions of our conversation were not recorded. So we re-recorded the whole discussion, and discovered again that portions were not saved. So the present podcast is spliced together from the two recordings. Unfortunately, Patrick’s discussion of three kinds of safe jobs was truncated during number three. The full list from his article is:

  1. Business to client one-time interaction services such as IT help or electricians
  2. Union jobs, particularly if the member can leave his politics at the door and the union has negotiated a very complicated process to fire an employee in their contract.
  3. Business to business with politically incorrect clients is always helpful, but this requires very high levels of competency in arcane areas and very strong relationships with clients.
  4. Owning the production of commoditized goods (wheat, gravel) is only open to the wealthy, but in commoditized, unconsolidated industries, boycotts do not work.

Nice … thanks. We need much more commentary like this here. A few quibs:

    1) I’m not sure any one under 40 is going to be managing capital or deciding who gets hired. Young white men aren’t going to be making decisions unless they have daddy placing them in a managerial position or get an elite MBA.

Where I work, the management / board of directors are mostly over 50, and a third are women or minorities.

    2) Networking is great, but you need specific skill sets (STEM degree or trade) to compliment your connections. It’s not enough to be merely have the right people like you anymore (unless it’s a government job). The gap between millenials and baby boomers outlooks is specifically this … the new economy offers a fraction of the (non skilled) entry level work available in the 70s and 80s.

“Masters degree required” is becoming common in certain STEM fields and accounting. With student debt being as enormous as it is, many white young men are locked into their career at 18 or 19.

What I would suggest to young white men without wealthy and connected parents:

    1) Go to college only if you are bright in a field that commands a high salary.

    2) Consider getting a basic trade at 18 … this will give you a good work ethic and something to fall back on should you explore other options.

    3) Limit the social influence of others from determining your own course.

The picture implies that white males should go into biology and medicine in case it comes down to biological warfare, a sentiment of which I am fully in accord with. I got that from the trench coat which symbolizes the detective looking for a clue. The test tube and microscope indicates a doctor or specialist of some kind.

  3. Rivarol says:
    February 14, 2015 at 3:57 am

The book ‘Body language for effective teaching’, which you spoke so highly of, cannot be found on a search on Amazon. Are you remembering the title wrong?

    1. Greg Johnson says:
      February 14, 2015 at 4:16 pm

Here it is: Body Language for Competent Teachers

  4. HIGHLAND says:
    February 14, 2015 at 4:28 am

Have to say I love the topic, more on this line please if you can.

  5. Demosthenes says:
    February 14, 2015 at 2:37 pm

As Rivoral mentioned above, ‘Body Language for Effective Teaching’ does not seem to be a book title. Was the book ‘Body Language for Effective Communication’?

Dr. Johnson you were talking about dedicating your time to your employer over and above the job description. What about the problem of being overworked, unappreciated and underpaid? This is often pointed out in the mainstream media about Japan http://rt.com/news/229943-japan-work-holiday-compulsory/. However as a young person who has had work experience in a variety of fields I have found this to be a reoccurring issue.

      Body Language for Competent Teachers

    2. Greg Johnson says:
      February 14, 2015 at 4:17 pm

If you are being exploited, under-appreciated, or underpaid, then find a better job.

  6. Runner says:
    February 15, 2015 at 3:32 pm

I am starving for discussions like this.

We need more. Thank you both.

By the way all white men should get a college education. It brings credibility and opportunity.
