This is absolutely brilliant. For its length, it is definitive. What an amazing sensibility had Mr Bowden. I admire him more now than ever before.
Agreed. I have listened to his speeches multiple times and learned something new each time. My favorite is “Credo: A Nietzschean Testament”.
I really enjoyed the format of playing a clip of the music he is speaking about. I also really enjoyed his explanation of the difference between science and art with science as a reflection of the natural world, and art as a reflection of emotion.

I could just hear Elgar’s music and know deep down that he’s fundamentally English without actually knowing anything about him.
It’s strange how music exposes the soul of a people.
