Thanks for this. As an Englishman from working stock, seeing those old Smithfield Cockney meat porters defending Enoch, so passionately, hits something deep within me. Sadly, due to the treachery of our ‘leaders’, they’re a tribe that’s now vanished from London.

Is there no video of the speech without all those interruptions and comments?

I could not find one. I think that the press preserved a few clips, and if you read the text, some of those clips are things said not by Powell, but Powell quoting other people. But that context is not clear from the soundbites.

He possessed an integrity that is lacking in our species today. Watch his eyes- he rarely blinks. His inner power and conviction comes through in the intensity of his gaze and worry.

This was both interesting and inspiring. But wouldn’t it be great to see and hear the original speech in its entirety? I wonder if it was taped.

A notable revelation was that he appeared to be a racial egalitarian. A separationist, hopefully, but an egalitarian nonetheless.

When asked whether he was a “racialist,” he responded, in part, that all races possess the same capacity for civilization.
